We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Schulz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jason, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I spent the majority of my career leading the Information Management and Records Strategy program at Warner Bros. Studios. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial drive, but the studio’s demands and frequent business travel left little time to fully pursue my creative aspirations. Just before the pandemic, Warner Bros. was acquired by AT&T, and I took advantage of a severance package that allowed me to transition to the production side of the industry. However, the 2023 strike brought TV and film production to a grinding halt. The industry still hasn’t fully recovered, and with the scarcity of studio work and the uncertainty surrounding Hollywood’s future, I realized it was time to stop waiting on the establishment and start betting on myself.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Despite my corporate career, I managed to carve out pockets of free time to pursue my passion for filmmaking. As a storyteller, I’m drawn to dramatic narratives with a comedic twist. I began by directing several short films, including Les Bouffons, which won the grand prize at the Producers Guild of America short film competition. Most recently, my buddy and I completed our first feature film — a lighthearted, award-winning fantasy-adventure titled Empire Queen: The Golden Age of Magic — now available on Prime Video and other streaming platforms.

I genuinely enjoy creating content that resonates across genres by blending story with levity. Whether it’s a corporate video or an epic fantasy film, my goal is to produce quality projects that engage and entertain. It’s been an exhilarating journey in many ways, but transitioning from corporate life to production has not been easy. Leaving the stability of a studio desk to face an industry rocked by strikes, runaway production, and fires was something I never anticipated.

Still, I consider myself naturally resilient. I’ve leaned on my faith in God’s providence, confidence in my abilities, and persistent effort to keep moving forward. I’ve learned that perseverance is essential. Rejection and delays are part of the process, but if you stay the course, breakthroughs will come. At my core, I strive to live with intention and purpose — to be involved in projects and stories that have heart and make an impact. I’d like to think my brand is rooted in creative vision, excellence, and delivering meaningful value with friendliness, and I hope that comes through in everything I do.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
L.A. has a unique vibe that I want my visitors to experience. I’d start with visits to Malibu, Beverly Hills, and Hollywood so they can take in the city’s most iconic areas. In addition to sightseeing, we’d focus on great food, entertainment, and atmosphere. From Universal Studios to local favorites like Casa Vega or The Penthouse in Santa Monica are not to be missed. Ultimately, it’s about enjoying meaningful companionship, no matter what activity we find ourselves doing.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to the family and friends who believed in my ability to do my own thing.
