We had the good fortune of connecting with Lautaro Androszczuk and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lautaro, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
I don’t agree with the idea that everything is achieved through effort alone. There are different ways to achieve goals. Effort is only one part, along with creativity, preparation, luck, and desire. Some of these things can be worked on, while others must be pursued until they arrive.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Regarding my years as a journalist, I value the freedom I’ve had to work beyond the companies that hired me. I’ve never had to hide my passions and interests. While there have been times when the projects I’ve worked on weren’t to my liking, I’ve been lucky for the most part. I’ve written programs, podcasts, columns, and even books on topics I enjoy. For example, “Super Rojo,” a book about Independiente, my beloved soccer team.
Journalism is a rather unstable profession. Beyond the current reality of the country, this profession is fraught with complications. Salaries are low or conditions are precarious. That’s why, whenever I can, I like to talk to my colleagues and get a more general idea of the situation. But I don’t complain. Journalism isn’t to blame for the greed of media owners or the platforms that sell supposed freedom.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If anyone wants to visit the parts of the city that interest me most, I know where to take them. First, you have to go to Avellaneda to see Independiente. Then, stop by Valentin Alsina, my neighborhood, and walk its iconic streets. Then, grab a beer at a bar like El Vómito, and we’ll finish with a great tour of Buenos Aires pizzerias like Imperio, Las Cuartetas, Güerrin, and Pin Pun.
Oh, and if you’re into punk rock like I am, we can stop by Salón Pueyrredon.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many people along the way who have been instrumental in my work. From friends, colleagues, and family. Many people have trusted me, and I don’t want to forget anyone. That’s why I’ll simply mention Maximiliano, my first editor at an Argentine magazine.
