Meet Alicia Zamora

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alicia Zamora and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alicia, what principle do you value most?
The principle that matters most to me is trust. I think it’s something I’ve always needed in order to feel grounded—in friendships, in creative spaces, and just in life in general. For me, trust isn’t really about big dramatic moments. It’s more about the small, everyday things: knowing that when I open up, it won’t be used against me later. That when I say something, someone’s actually listening. That I can be myself without constantly wondering if I’m being judged or misunderstood. When I first started my blog account, I realized how much I relied on trust without even knowing it. I was putting pieces of myself out there—my thoughts, my experiences—and I didn’t know how people would take it. I didn’t know who actually supported me and who just liked the idea of being associated with something new or “aesthetic.” There were moments where I felt like I couldn’t trust anyone, and honestly, that made it really hard to stay consistent. Over time, though, I started finding people who genuinely cared. Some of them were old friends, some were new. But slowly, I began to feel less alone in what I was doing. Having people around me who understand me and want the best for me has made all the difference. They remind me that even if trust takes time, it’s worth it. So yeah—trust is the principle I come back to again and again. It’s not always easy, but it’s what allows me to connect, to create, and to feel like I belong somewhere.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I wouldn’t say there’s anything that sets me apart in some dramatic way—I’m really just a normal girl trying to do what she loves. But I think what makes my work meaningful is that it’s honest. It comes from a place of real passion, self-doubt, growth, and curiosity. I’m most excited about my short film that’s coming out in November. It’s something I’ve been working on for a while now, and it’s deeply personal. I’m also excited to see what comes next—what new stories I get to tell, who I get to meet, and how I can keep evolving through it all. Getting to this point definitely wasn’t easy. A lot of it came down to pushing myself out of my comfort zone, even when I was scared. Actually, especially when I was scared. There were so many times where I felt overwhelmed or unsure if I was even capable of doing what I set out to do—but I kept showing up. Sometimes I had to force myself to take the leap, knowing it would be uncomfortable but worth it. And honestly, one of the biggest reasons I’ve been able to overcome those challenges is because of the people around me. I have amazing friends who remind me that I’m not alone in this—that what I’m doing is valid, and that I don’t need to have it all figured out to keep going. They’ve helped me not only stay grounded in my own journey, but become part of theirs too.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is how important it is to find the right people. Especially in creative spaces, the industry can feel intimidating, competitive, and sometimes even a little twisted. You never really know people’s intentions, and that can be hard to navigate. I’ve seen it especially in music—so many insanely talented artists go unnoticed just because they don’t fit into the mold set by people in power. That’s frustrating, and it’s made me even more passionate about building spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported for who they truly are. What I want people to know about me and my story is that I’m just Alicia. I love to create. I love to write—honestly, writing feels like my little hidden superpower. One day I hope to publish a book, keep making films, and be a dope-ass publicist who helps artists find their voice and tell their stories. Alicia’s Studio started in my dorm room, and that alone reminds me that anything is possible. It was scary to start, but I’m so glad I did. I’m still figuring it out as I go, but that’s kind of the beauty of it.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to my friends and family who have supported me since the very beginning. When I first started this, I had no idea what would come of it—or if I’d even stick with it long enough to create something meaningful. There were so many moments of doubt, but having people in my corner made all the difference. I’ve been lucky enough to meet some truly amazing friends along the way—people who’ve inspired me, encouraged me, and reminded me why I started in the first place. You know who you are, and I’m so grateful for each of you. Thank you for believing in me, even when I didn’t fully believe in myself.
