Meet Noa Morchi | Dancer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Noa Morchi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Noa, what role has risk played in your life or career?
For me, taking risks has always been part of the journey. I don’t think you can really grow, especially as an artist, without taking risks.
Moving from Israel to LA was probably the biggest risk I’ve ever taken. I had a stable career back home as a professional dancer, but I knew I wanted more. I wanted to challenge myself, to be in a place where the industry is happening, where I could push myself creatively. But that meant giving up a lot. my home, my friends and family, everything that was familiar. I had to apply for an O-1 visa, start over, and figure it all out from scratch. Which I am still doing.
It was scary, and definitely still struggling . But taking that risk is making me grow so much , even if the outcome isn’t guaranteed.
And facing challenges that I wouldn’t face back home . reminded me that being uncomfortable is sometimes where you need to be to grow. And it’s making me trust myself more and more everyday.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a dancer.
Always was the little shy kid ,
But with dance I always felt so expressive, it felt like my getaway and my safe space.
You know when some kids are growing up you can immediately tell they’re natural movers ? I wasn’t one of them hehe.
I had to work super hard and always train so hard.
I didn’t have much social life growing up when i decided to take dance seriously. I was mostly just in the studio or at home training . I knew I had to train to get better.
I learned that i have to do it for myself , I have to get better for myself ,
I have to prove myself that I’m capable of doing everything I’m dreaming of. I’ve always been a dreamer , and I still am.
It was definitely hard to give up my career back home and move to a city that everyone is fighting to make it ,
And there’s soooo much talent.
I’m facing challenges but I’m getting up and doing it everyday to prove myself that I’m capable.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ummmm so I’m vegan and I’m a foodie
I will take my bestie to all my favourite spots ,
I’m vegan so I love places with plenty vegan options ,
I love hope organic kitchen,
Planta , pura vita , the butcher’s daughter,
I love having coffee/ matcha at : Alfred’s, saint’s coffe, coffee and plants , aroma , canyon coffee.
We will probably go shopping , I love the Silverlake flea market , super cute .
I’m a city girl , I come from a very live city, so I love to walk around! Which is pretty hard in la
But I love to walk around Silverlake , and larchmont village so many cute little stores and stylish people.
I’m naturally a homebody so we will probably stay home some night, cook dinner and watch a rom com.
We will probably go on a hike or
Go workout together , and if it’s sunny, we’ll go to our friends pool and get some tan!
If we’re feeling creative, we’ll go to ” color me mine” and make a cute piece.
Also! One of my favorite things to do since I loved to la , is going to target/ross
I love decorating my place and I love buying the essentials. It’s meditative for me hehe.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My amazing friends and family that without their support I wouldn’t be able to take this big step.
And my dear dear friend Diana Matos , which has been my dance mentor for a while , and helped me grow so much.
At this point she’s like my family and provided me a second home in La .
It’s really nice and comforting to know that you have someone here that you can trust and I’m very grateful for her and her beautiful family.
