Meet Alice Zingman | Psychologist & Profiler

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alice Zingman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alice, how do you think about risk?
I believe risk-taking is hardwired into our primal nature—a core instinct that drives growth. To evolve, we must step into the unknown, embracing uncertainty as the catalyst for progress. With a robust education from the University of Bath and Vanderbilt University, I could have followed a conventional path in clinical practice. Instead, I leaned into risk, building a dynamic career as an online profiler and creator, attracting over 25,000 followers to my YouTube channel in just one year.
One major risk was launching my YouTube channel when digital platforms were still an unconventional stage for psychological expertise. Rather than limiting my work to academic circles or private sessions, I blended science with compelling storytelling, creating psychological profiles of public figures and couples. This leap not only amplified my voice but also democratized psychology, making complex concepts resonate with thousands. This required vulnerability and resilience, as I navigated the balance between intellectual rigor and public perception.
By stepping into the unknown, I’ve built a platform that not only reflects my passion but also inspires others to explore the depths of human behavior with courage and curiosity.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a psychologist educated at the University of Bath and Vanderbilt University, I’ve built a distinctive career as an online profiler and YouTube creator, growing a 25,000-follower channel in just one year. My unique edge lies in fusing evidence-based psychology with dynamic storytelling. My distinct strength is using public figures and couples to illustrate complex psychological processes and relationship dynamics, showcasing diverse personality types through relatable public examples.
I’ve learned that authenticity is magnetic—viewers connect with genuine passion and expertise. Most importantly, I’ve learned to trust my voice—blending science with storytelling is my strength, and it’s okay to carve a path that’s uniquely mine.
My mission is to inspire others to explore the mind’s complexities with empathy and boldness, creating a ripple effect of understanding in a chaotic world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We begin at The Polo Lounge at The Beverly Hills Hotel, a fairy-tale nook of pink-and-green splendor. Over buttery brioche French toast and rose-kissed lattes, we’ll relax under a canopy of soft piano melodies, as if dining in a Hollywood dream.
Next, we flit to The Getty Center, where paintings in the West Pavilion—Monet’s dreamy water lilies, Van Gogh’s vibrant Irises—cast a spell of wonder. Then, a dreamy stroll through the Central Garden awaits, where roses blush and fountains sing.
As evening settles in, we end at Kazunori The Original Hand Roll Bar in Marina del Rey, savoring delicate toro and lobster hand rolls by the glowing Marina del Rey canals. A post-dinner saunter along the water, seals our day with moonlit magic.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Dr. Graham Reside, Director of Vanderbilt’s Prison and Carceral Studies Program, profoundly shaped my career. Dr. Reside personally accepted me into his program, enabling me to work with Death Row inmates at Riverbend Maximum Security Prison. This experience immersed me in complex personality types and behavioral disorders, sharpening my profiling skills. Dr. Reside’s guidance taught me to uncover the human stories behind behaviors, inspiring a platform that makes psychology engaging and impactful.
