We had the good fortune of connecting with Cesar Osorio and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cesar, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
One of the most difficult decisions was having to leave from the Los Angeles Police Department, 1 year short of securing my pension.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the Senior Managing Partner & Principal of Wilshire Financial Group located in Beverly Hills, CA. We are a full-service corporate finance company that assists businesses with obtaining working or start-up capital. Prior to that, I was a full-time police officer with the Los Angeles Police (LAPD) for 19-years. I left the LAPD 1-year short of securing my pension in order to pursue my current role. It was an extremely tough decision because there was no room for me to fail. I had no backup plan and would’ve essentially wasted 19 years of my life. I always referred back to Mauricio Umansky’s mantra: “Forgoing financial security to gamble on an uncertain opportunity isn’t for everyone — and fear of change is a very real and common phenomenon — but if you don’t take a leap, you’ll remain stagnant.”

I always try and push my staff to pursuing their dreams. My dream is to be able to help as many people as possible achieve their own business dreams.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My heart is definitely in Beverly Hills and my favorite spot is Spago. It’s been a staple of Beverly Hills for years. I love the atmosphere, food, drinks and best of all the fact that Mr. Wolfgang Puck still stops by often and greets his guests. After dinner, I would grab a night cap at Novikov or Dantes.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My inspiration came from Mr. Mauricio Umansky. I have read his book, ” The Dealmaker” countless times and I always refer back to it when feeling discouraged or going through a rough patch.
