We had the good fortune of connecting with Tami Macala and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tami, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My father owned his own business since I was six months old, so that was really my only example of the kind of career I was meant to have.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Leaving a career and not having a safety net is always a little scary. I knew I needed
to take the leap of faith to start my own business, but I always had the film industry
to fall back on, so I did it in steps to build my business. It was not an all-or-nothing
decision.
I have been fortunate to create an art studio in every home I have rented until I
purchased the house I am in now. Working from home with low overhead has
allowed me to take bigger leaps in building each business I run now
