Hi Abdiana, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success — and the brand’s — has been resilience. There were moments where things didn’t go as planned, when setbacks felt overwhelming, and the easiest option would have been to give up. But resilience kept me moving forward. It taught me to view challenges as lessons, not failures. Every obstacle became a chance to adapt, grow stronger, and sharpen our vision. Success didn’t come from avoiding hardship — it came from pushing through it, staying focused on the bigger picture, and never letting temporary setbacks define the outcome.

What should our readers know about your business?
EMOSA is a Pilates studio I founded to create a safe space — a place where people can reconnect with their bodies, build strength, and feel empowered.

Coming from an immigrant family and witnessing my mom’s sacrifices, I knew what resilience looked like. Starting this business wasn’t easy, but I wanted EMOSA to be living proof that no matter the odds, hard work pays off.

I’m proud that EMOSA stands for strength, perseverance, and creating space for others to thrive.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, I’d take them straight to Laguna Beach to experience the best of the coast. We’d start the evening at Mozambique, sipping cocktails, having dinner while watching the sunset over the ocean—it’s seriously one of the most stunning views around.
Once we’ve eaten, we’d find a lively spot to play some pool and enjoy live music—there’s nothing like a little friendly competition and good vibes to end the night. Over the week, I’d make sure to include some time exploring the local art galleries, hiking the coastal trails, and grabbing bites at some of the best casual spots. Laguna Beach perfectly blends relaxation, adventure, and culture—it’s the ideal place to give a friend the best time ever.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely — I truly believe that no one gets anywhere alone, and I have to give all glory to God first. His guidance, grace, and presence have carried me through every high and low. There were times when I didn’t know what was next, but my faith gave me strength, clarity, and peace when I needed it most.

My shoutout also goes to my friends — the ones who believed in me before the results showed, who listened when I needed to vent, who celebrated the small wins and pushed me through the tough moments. Their support, honesty, and presence have meant more than words can express.

And I want to dedicate this to my future family — the one I’m building and dreamed of. The thought of them gives me purpose, patience, and a reason to keep growing. Everything I do now is laying the foundation for them, and that quiet motivation has shaped so many of my choices.
