Meet Christina LaRocca | DJ, Singer, Event Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina LaRocca and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christina, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an artistic career because I am first and foremost a passionate artist—Singer, DJ and musician—whose love for music runs deep in my blood. Growing up in a musical family with my mother, aunt, and uncle in bands, I was surrounded by creativity from an early age. My journey took me around the world, performing at thousands of shows across the USA, Europe, the UK, Canada, and the Middle East. While I’ve considered other paths, my true calling has always been music and events. Eventually, that passion grew into building L Rock Entertainment in New York City, and it eventually brought me here to California, allowing me to share my love for music by creating unforgettable experiences for others. Being a voting member of the Recording Academy also helps me stay connected to the industry at the highest level. For me, it’s about living my dream, producing exceptional events, and making others’ dreams come true.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career has been a journey of passion, persistence, and continuous growth. As a DJ and musician, I’ve dedicated my life to creating memorable musical experiences, touring internationally and performing on stages internationally. What sets me apart is my deep artistic background combined with a professional approach to entertainment—both as a performer and as a business owner. I see myself as an artist first, which fuels my desire to deliver authentic, exceptional experiences to every client.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t always easy. There were challenges along the way—the pandemic, having moved 3,000 miles away to the west coast and starting over career wise, and the constant need to adapt to a rapidly evolving industry. I overcame these obstacles through resilience, a willingness to learn from others, and a commitment to excellence. Mentors and peers in the industry played a vital role in guiding me, and staying true to my passion kept me motivated.
The lessons I’ve learned are invaluable: always stay hungry to improve, embrace collaboration, and prioritize authentic connections—whether with clients, industry peers, or my team. I want the world to know that my brand is rooted in passion and authenticity. I’m committed to pushing boundaries, creating unforgettable moments, and inspiring others to pursue their dreams with dedication and heart.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’d start the trip with brunch at Nigel’s Long Beach, where we’d enjoy a floating table overlooking the water—a perfect way to kick things off with good vibes and delicious food. After exploring downtown Long Beach, we’d head north to 92Kbbq in Torrance for some all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ—the best in LA.
Next, we’d make sure to catch a concert at the iconic Greek Theatre, experiencing one of OC’s most legendary live music venues. Then we’d head into Hollywood to Desert 5 for some LA style line dancing and the best YEEDM DJs.
Maybe one afternoon we’d spend a relaxing afternoon in Laguna Beach, enjoying ice cream while people-watching and soaking up the artistic, laid-back atmosphere. We’d also check out the local art galleries to get a taste of Laguna’s vibrant creative scene.
A highlight would be a shopping spree at South Coast Plaza, followed by a visit to Fashion Island. Once we’re hungry again, we’d dine at Red-O for some upscale Mexican cuisine. To wind down the day, we’d rent a boat at Newport Beach for a breathtaking sunset—just in time to enjoy the stunning coastline.
For outdoor adventures, we’d hike in Malibu, taking in the scenic views and the crisp ocean air. We’d also dedicate a day to exploring the surreal landscapes of Joshua Tree National Park, embracing the beauty of the desert and its unique rock formations. If they are up for it – perhaps a day at Disneyland, or Universal Studios Hollywood.
Honestly this merely touches on all of the incredible things we could do in SoCal.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many people and organizations I want to recognize for their impact on my journey. First, my family—my mother, aunt, and uncle—who instilled in me a love for music from a young age and supported my artistic dreams. My father, although not a musician, is an avid enthusiast of the arts and is incredibly creative in his own way—as a writer and carpenter. He continues to encourage me to pursue my passions and happiness. I also want to shout out to my bandmates in Modern Highway, whose support has been invaluable, as well as the handful of DJs I’ve worked with along the way who have taken the time to show me ropes in running a DJ business and helping me the level of professionalism I have today. Finally, I am grateful for my clients, whose trust in my talent motivates me to keep growing and evolving my business.
