We had the good fortune of connecting with Sivia Tapia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sivia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The heart of everything I do is community. With The Glam Collective, I didn’t just want another salon, I wanted a glam home where stylists could actually build their careers without all the cutthroat competition. We hype each other up, we share resources, and that energy spills over to our clients who leave feeling gorgeous and cared for.
Duo Sculpt is the same love, just in sneakers instead of heels. It’s about moving your body, feeling strong, and building friendships in the process. To me, beauty and fitness are just the sparkles on top, the real magic is creating spaces where people feel

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Where do I even start? Owning a business is glam, but it’s definitely not easy. The Glam Collective was my first baby, and I wanted it to be more than just a salon. I wanted a space where stylists could grow their own businesses with support instead of competition. Creating that vibe of collaboration is what I’m most proud of, it sets us apart. Clients feel that energy the moment they walk in; they’re not just getting a service, they’re getting an experience.

Duo Sculpt came later, and this time I wasn’t doing it alone, my sister Raquel and I built it together. It’s all about community, wellness, and empowerment. Think of it as a space where you can sweat, connect, and leave feeling stronger than when you walked in. We’re creating something that feels like family, and that’s what excites me the most.

Was it easy? Absolutely not. There were moments I questioned myself, moments where the fear of failure crept in. But I learned to push through, to trust the vision, and to remind myself that challenges are just part of the process. The lesson? You have to show up for yourself, even on the hard days, because that’s when the real growth happens.

What I want the world to know is this: my brands are about more than beauty and fitness. They’re about building confidence, creating community, and giving people a space where they feel like they belong. That’s the heart of my story.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I were planning the perfect girly weekend, I’d start with a Pilates class at DUO in Bellflower, then grab a latte at Soulmate Coffee Shop right after. From there, I’d head home for the fun part, getting ready with music on, hair and makeup, and planning the outfit vibes and of course create content.

For brunch, I’d drive down to Javier’s in Newport Beach for the food and ocean atmosphere. From Newport, I’d take the scenic route up Pacific Coast Highway, passing Huntington Beach, Long Beach, and eventually Santa Monica, just soaking in the coastal views. Then I’d cut inland to Beverly Hills for dinner at Avra and a stroll along Rodeo Drive. To wrap up the night, I’d stop at Bacio Di Latte for some ice cream, because no weekend is complete without dessert.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Well, first I have to start with my family. My dad set the tone for everything! Coming to this country as an immigrant and building a business from nothing. That work ethic and ‘you can do anything’ mindset is something he passed to me, and now I’m passing to my kids.

I also have to give so much credit to my sister Raquel. Duo Sculpt is our baby, and I couldn’t imagine building that journey without her. She brings her own magic, and together we balance each other out in the best way.

Of course, I’m beyond grateful for my team, the stylists at The Glam Collective and the trainers and clients at Duo Sculpt. They are the energy, the trust, and the heartbeat of both brands.

And last but definitely not least, my boys. They’re my “why.” Even when they don’t say it out loud, I know they’re watching, and everything I do is to show them what’s possible.
