We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Drachnik and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always been an entrepreneur. I’m a leader — and when I have an idea, I go for it.

My thought process was pretty simple: I realized I was good at making social media content that gets people’s attention and actually converts. People would constantly ask me for help — brands, friends, business owners — and I thought, okay, there’s clearly a demand for this. So why not create something that helps brands make great content, but backed by someone who’s actually gone viral for doing it?

When you grow an audience on TikTok or Instagram, it’s proof that you’re marketable. You’ve learned how to tell stories that connect with people, how to get someone to stop scrolling, and how to build trust through content — that’s what every brand in the world is trying to figure out. A lot of creators take that momentum and go into acting, modeling, or launching clothing lines, but I wanted to take a different path. I wanted to build a business that teaches what I’ve learned — from someone who’s actually done it, not just talked about it.

That’s how Drax Social was born — a full-service social media video production agency where we help brands with everything from strategy and scripting to production, editing, and social media management. I already had millions of followers and years of proof behind what works online, but I wanted to turn that experience into something that helps others grow too.

What’s wild is, this was always the plan — even before social media existed. I’ve been creating content since I was 13, and I used to tell people, “One day I’m going to have my own film production company.” Then I spent years working in Hollywood, behind the scenes in TV and film, learning how to tell stories on a bigger scale. All of that experience — from being a kid with a camera to building an audience online — led me right here.

Now I get to do exactly what I dreamed of: tell stories, build brands, and help others show up online in a way that actually works. What you speak into existence is powerful — and when you don’t stop working toward your goals, eventually, they stop being dreams and start being your life.

And honestly, none of it would be possible without my amazing team — they’re the backbone of everything we do at DRAX Social.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
DRAX Social is a full-service social media video production agency. We help brands go from idea to execution — developing strategy, producing shoots, editing videos, and managing content calendars. Because of my background in TV and film, I bring a Hollywood-level production mindset to social media. I’ve worked on sets, written call sheets, coordinated crews, and now I use that same structure to help brands create content that actually connects and converts.

What sets us apart is that we don’t just talk about content — we’re creators ourselves. I’ve built a following of over 4 million across platforms, so when I say I know what works online, I have proof. Most agencies specialize in one niche, but we’ve helped everyone from lawyers to music festivals to wellness brands grow their presence. The strategy changes, but the formula stays the same: tell stories that grab attention and drive real results.

Getting here wasn’t easy. I didn’t come from a traditional business background — I came from film school, long production days, and a lot of trial and error. My ADHD became my superpower; it made me curious enough to try everything — and over time, every skill I learned built on the next. That curiosity is what shaped me into who I am today: a founder, creator, and leader who understands every step of the process.

I’ve been creating content since I was 13 years old. I used to say, “One day I’m going to have my own film production company,” and now, 15+ years later, here we are. It didn’t happen overnight — not even close. People talk about the “10-year overnight success story,” and I’ve lived that. Every year of experimenting, failing, learning, and reinventing myself got me to where I am right now.

What I want the world to know is that DRAX Social isn’t just another agency — it’s built by creators, for creators and brands who want to stand out. We’re bold, edgy, and unfiltered, but deeply strategic. I still make comedy skits and run my own creator brand because that’s what keeps the creativity alive. I even dedicate at least one day a week just to shoot my own content — not for clients, not for brand deals — but because creating makes me happy. It’s my reset. Without it, I’d feel lost and uncreative. Plus, staying active as a creator keeps me in the loop with what’s trending, so I can bring that same energy and insight back to my clients.

At the end of the day, I’m proud that DRAX Social is proof that you can take your passion, your creativity, and your persistence — and turn it into something massive. You just have to keep going, even when it feels like it’s taking forever, because one day you’ll look up and realize… you actually did it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting me in LA, I’d make sure they got the full experience — the perfect mix of beach days, good food, and a little nightlife.

We’d start on the West Side — definitely Santa Monica for a beach day, hitting the pier (because you have to, it’s iconic) and grabbing burgers at The Santa Monica Whaler, one of my all-time favorite burgers ever is there. After that, we’d wander around the Third Street Promenade for some shopping, then head toward Venice for drinks and bar hopping — places like Bell’s or anywhere on Abbot Kinney. Abbot Kinney is one of my favorite areas for boutiques, bars, and seriously good ice cream.

I’d definitely take them shopping on Melrose — that’s where I get most of my clothes — and we’d hit the Melrose Trading Post on Sunday. It’s one of my favorite LA spots and has the best vintage finds and local artists.

At night, we’d head to West Hollywood for rooftop bars and maybe catch an EDM show or a live set somewhere. I’m big on festivals and live music, so if one’s happening while they’re in town, we’re going.

Basically, it’d be a mix of beach days, shopping, live music, and good food — everything that makes LA fun, creative, and alive.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wanna dedicate this to my parents. They always had cameras lying around the house when I was 13, and one day I picked one up — and honestly, that moment changed everything. Next thing I knew, creating videos became my whole life.

My parents have supported my “artsy, creative career” every step of the way — letting me chase whatever crazy idea I had, never doubting me, and always cheering me on even when it didn’t make sense yet. The kind of support they gave me is rare, and it’s something you don’t fully appreciate until you’re older. Looking back, I wouldn’t be doing any of this without them.
