We had the good fortune of connecting with Goldwyn Thandrayen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Goldwyn, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
At the moment, right now. The simple things, such as hanging out at Santa Monica Pier in the early mornings having a cup of coffee, croissant and a cigar watching the waves roll in.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
This year, my focus is on playing as many acoustic shows as I can—my first one being April 14th in Los Angeles—and releasing my first acoustic solo record at the end of the year.

I’m also getting back into putting out some cool videos with Psychocide and working on new songs, which is exciting. Playing with a band and going electric again is going to feel different after spending the last two years focused on acoustic. It’s like having a new car all tuned up and waiting.

I’ve had to put martial arts on the back burner. Even though I still train regularly, getting competitive while pursuing music at this level was too much to balance. Maybe one day in the future.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The week would start early. Mornings are important to me, so we’d be up before the city—coffee or matcha in a quiet area like Silver Lake or Los Feliz, just walking and resetting. That’s where everything starts: getting your head and your energy right.

Early in the week, I’d take them to an open mic—something real, not overly curated. Places like Hotel Café or smaller rooms where you can feel people working things out in real time. That environment says a lot about the city. It’s not about perfection, it’s about process.

Food-wise, I keep it simple but intentional. Clean spots like Erewhon during the day, and then something solid at night—good Italian, sushi, places that are consistent without being overhyped.

I’d keep some movement in the schedule too—early hikes, something like Runyon or a quieter trail. It keeps the body engaged and balances everything else.

Socially, I’m selective. I’m not interested in just moving through random scenes. If we go out, it’s because there’s a reason—specific people, a certain energy, something worth being present for.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I always have a strong team behind me, at the moment as my focus is on killing the Acoustic circuit, i want to give a big shoutout to my Vocal Coach Gaston Jauregui, Performance Coach Shimon Moore and finally my producer Bob Harlow who is helping me better express myself in my songs.
