We had the good fortune of connecting with Julie Nunn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Julie, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Nature- because it’s constantly changing.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I see art as connection —
something that transforms space and emotion at once.

I’ve always believed art belongs to everyone, and I want my work to exist where people feel, pause, and reflect.

I’m proud to now be represented by Julie Zener Gallery, where that shared love continues to inspire what’s next.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Maybe it’s just because I’m a little homesick from traveling, but honestly, my first stop is ALWAYS The Red Onion. Then I’d head out for a long hike from the PV Lighthouse, prime whale-watching territory. If you’re lucky, you’ll spot whales breaching, dolphins dancing, hawks soaring!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To ALL the artists who feel unseen or held back — don’t wait for permission. Thank you to PALOS VERDES HIGH SCHOOL, THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PACIFIC, and JOHN and MAUREEN NUNN,, who taught me to create boldly.
Claim your space. You don’t need opportunity to begin—-you are the opportunity.
