Meet Brittany Britton

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Britton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, how does your business help the community?
At Best Coast Estate Law we directly serve our community every day. Our clients come to us with incredibly important, personal legal needs- whether that is drafting their will or trust, planning for incapacity, or administering a probate estate.
We know we are helping our clients through some of the most difficult decisions they will make in their lifetime. It is always my goal to leave our clients better than they found us.
Every estate planning client expresses relief and a sense of peace of mind upon completing their documents. They know they’re leaving their loved ones with an organized, thoughtful and well-drafted estate plan. You sleep better at night with that knowledge.
With every trust we complete, I know we’ve helped one more California family avoid the mess of a probate and leave a lasting legacy for their loved ones to remember them by.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started my practice as a sole proprietor in 2015. At that time it was just me and my laptop working out of my dining room. I branded myself as a “Mobile Estate Planning Attorney” because without an office, my only option was to meet with clients in their home or by Skype (pre-pandemic video conferencing!). It was intimidating to go out on my own but I leaned on mentors and hired a business coach to get me up and running. By the far the best money I spent at the beginning was on a quality website developer with great SEO knowledge.
By 2017, I hired an administrative and legal assistant to help me manage the volume of estate planning clients we were serving. At this time we also moved into a small office at WeWork Toluca Lake which felt like a huge step! Getting out of my house and having the opportunity to welcome clients to our office was when I realized I could really turn this small sole proprietorship into a business.
In 2018, I hired my first paralegal and incorporated as a professional corporation. We expanded from exclusively offering estate planning services to offering probate and trust administration services as well. I was always very careful to only take cases I knew we had the bandwidth to handle well. Many prospective clients were shocked when we declined to take their case, but I knew that for my business to be a success, we needed to keep our volume at a level at which our legal work and client satisfaction remained at a high level.
The pandemic turned out to be a huge opportunity for growing the business and I jumped at it. Many older estate firms were not set up for remote or digital representation and were forced to close their doors. We on the other hand, had been offering virtual representation since 2015, so a quick switch from Skype to Zoom and implementing digital security for our clients meant we were up and running within days of the shut down. That year, Californians were more motivated than ever to get their affairs in order. We were able to double our gross revenue by the end of 2021 and hire additional legal assistants and paralegals.
By 2022 we moved into our headquarters in Burbank and began offering services to clients from San Diego to Sacramento and beyond. We opened our satellite office in Palm Springs the next year and expanded to in-home services in Riverside County.
As the business has grown it has remained a top priority to be flexible in how we offer our legal services. My team truly cares about our clients’ well being and we routinely go out of our way to hand-deliver documents to seniors and meet ill clients in the comfort of their homes. If a client has a new baby, we will send a mobile notary to their door so they don’t need to worry about the logistics of getting out of the house.
In 2025 our senior probate paralegal, Lisa West, passed the California Bar Exam, making us a two-attorney team. This was our latest “level up” and has directly impacted the number of probate cases we are able to take every year. Our probate clients often work with us for a year or more and report feeling like part of our Best Coast family. We have the privilege of helping clients through some of the most difficult times of their life and are honored they trust us with such sensitive matters.
At Best Coast, you’re working with a boutique law office, women-owned and operated, who wake up every day intent on making your life just a little bit easier. We love to have clients in the office and if you come visit us you can meet our resident dog, Bells, the “Director of Client Experience”.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a born and raised LA girl, this one is easy! If mileage/traffic was a nonissue:
Breakfast – Lucky Boy Pasadena (bacon breakfast burrito + horchata)
Post Breakfast walk around the Rose Bowl (if it’s the 2nd Sunday of the month we can catch the Flea Market!)
Drive to Malibu – Let’s take Sunset and drive up PCH to enjoy the view on our way.
Lunch at Taverna Tony – Greek Feast and the house wine.. if we’re lucky, we’ll see Tony himself and he’ll impart his sage wisdom on us.
Malibu Country Mart for shopping and people (celebrity) watching… maybe a tarot card reading at the Malibu Shaman.
Siesta at Carbon Beach – grab free parking on PCH and walk to a public access point.. all we need is a beach towel for a quick snooze.
Dinner – Fishing With Dynamite in Manhattan Beach. The BEST seafood in L.A. and phenomenal service. A Michelin Guide restaurant!
End the day with L.A. Sports – Lakers, Dodgers, Kings… if no games are on, we’ll see a show at the Greek Theatre or the Hollywood Bowl.
Late night- Drinks and dancing in West Hollywood, where else?
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents deserve all the credit for raising me with strong values of family, education, and serving my community. Their unwavering support throughout my life gave me the foundation and the confidence to follow my dreams and start my own practice. Their work ethic and commitment to helping others is ingrained in me and those qualities are with me every day in serving my clients. After years of working the corporate grind, they are now both retired- shoutout to your well-deserved retirement, Mom and Dad!
