Meet Aaron Michael

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron Michael and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaron, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I feel like the biggest factor into continuing with your career is if you still love the process like when you did when you started it. Me being a DJ means to always look for new music, sounds and how to create a vibe and I still love it the same i did when I started and i even have a deeper appreciation for it today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
If you asked me 6 years ago if I would be deejaying full time I’ve would’ve said Hell no lol. Ive been doing it for 14 years now and full time for almost 7 of those years and it’s been hard but also rewarding. Starting from deejaying small house parties to hookah lounges all over Phx to now being in multiple clubs and bars, to even being on one of the most popular radio stations in the country has all been life changing experiences for me. If there’s one thing I want people to know is that’s it free to be positive. Being a good person and good at your job will get you far in life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a Phx kid born and raised so I’m definitely the guy to trust when it’s what to do out here. First you can’t go wrong with getting dinner at the global ambassador hotel. Best food and vibes there always. Then I would say to meet me at Cobra Arcade bar for R&B Wednesdays cause it’s always a vibe. Then we got to check out Fashion square for some shopping and vibes especially at my favorite store (The guest list). You can’t go wrong with brunch at Cala then Sunday funday vibes at Samsara with the best music and vibes for Sundays. Then end the trip strong at Riot house on Sunday which is one of my favorite places to play.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to definitely shoutout my mom for being my biggest supporter from when I grew up playing basketball to now being a professional DJ in Az and supporting me every step. I also want to thank my DJ mentors like Chris Villa, DJ complex and the many friends and people that have supported me and kept me hungry and humble all the way through.
