Meet Tania Bunic: Blogger, Fashion Designer, Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tania Bunic and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tania, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk pretty much summed up my 2020. Firstly at the beginning of 2020 before the outbreak I have decided to travel to Bali and stay a few months in order to research and develop a sustainable resort wear brand. So when the outbreak hit and my flights back home got cancelled I decided to take the risk and stay on the island fully embracing the unknown. I threw myself into the brand development process which was a big risk in itself as no one could’ve predicted that the whole world would be so affected by the outbreak. Especially me as my brand is resort wear and someone told me that this is number 2 on the list of least useful things of 2020. But I didn’t allow this to stir me away from my goals and I trusted that what I’m creating will make women feel good so once 2020 is over everything will be better. So I worked away and created 4 collections, built a beautiful concept based on female empowerment and slow fashion, worked with inspiring women that posed and represented my brand as models and I had faith this mess will be over soon. Even though my revenue has been massively impacted by the outbreak and my decision to self-fund and launch this project in the mids of the outbreak, I firmly believe that the risk I took paid off. The time locked away from the world allowed me to put in a strong foundation and work not only on my brands but my personal development and mental health too by choosing positive thoughts and believing in better outcomes. What should our readers know about your business?
I have a lifestyle blog that allowed me to travel the world and live in some of the most amazing places including LA. I have written my thoughts via the blog for the past 5 years and it has opened so many beautiful doors for me. I’m forever grateful for it. Prior to Covid 19, I have decided to launch a separate business venture – a sustainable clothing brand handmade in Bali with female inclusivity and empowerment in mind. The brand started to grow almost instantly and 6 months on, I’m now looking for investments to scale up the growth. Considering that we are making sustainable resort wear during the pandemic, I’m extremely grateful to be able to experience sustained growth. In addition to two of my current business project, I’m writing a novel which is a love story with a message of self-love. I’m slowly birthing this book and I can’t wait to bring it to life as it will empower so many women to allow their happiness to come first.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to meet at Echo Park for a little stroll and catch up and grabbing a coffee from one of the local cafes, I really like Andante Coffee Roasters for an American and catch up. Then I love popping into Your Intuition Led you Here on the Sunset for a quick crystal stock up or maybe one of their magic candles which I love so much. From there I would love to go vintage shopping on Melrose followed by a late lunch and a cocktail at EP & LP. Silverlake is one of my favourite neighbourhoods so even just exploring the local stores and restaurants is so amazing. One of my favourites for cocktails is Happy Stella and Night+Market Song for a traditional Thai bite. If I wanted something else like Oysters and Froze then Sawyer would be my main go to. There is so much to do that it’s so hard to choose all of my favourites.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to admit that listening to Abraham Hicks inspirational talks on Spotify and Youtube have given me so much clarity and motivation to reach for my wildest dreams and bring them to life. Like starting and developing a clothing brand and designing 4 collections and campaigns within 6 months without prior knowledge of the technical side to fashion business.. They thought me how to increase my inner guidance and intuition and follow it. Also I thanks to Abrahan and Esther I have learned how to silence my ego and fear-based thoughts and transform them into positive thoughts. Thanks to my inner guidance I collected enough strength and moved to Bali to start developing a brand and this is where I met my soul tribe and so many amazing women that helped me bring my dreams into reality. I have realised empowered women together can make magic happen easily and I’m extremely grateful for that realisation.
