We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexis, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite quote is one of my own, which goes “When acting in faith, you cannot micromanage God. Let go and let God!” ; which talks about releasing the fear and doubts that come after setting our heart and intentions on our desires. If we stand in faith, we should be able to sit back as God works it out on our behalf, without an assist, without micromanaging, and without input!
What should our readers know about your business?
The last time I was interviewed, I shed light on Posh Hair Boutique, but today I’d love to introduce the readers to Onyx Essentials! It’s an herbal apothecary line that uses herbs, botanicals and essential oils to provide a natural cure for common skin conditions, mental and emotional health as well as common ailments that require pharmaceutical drugs. This is a new business, but I have used the trials and errors that I learned with my first as a manual for getting this brand off the ground. What I would like for people to take back from this brand is the concept of getting people off of pharmaceutical drugs, skincare that contains chemicals, and anti-depressants! All of these “remedies” mask the original problem, while creating multiple new issues that the customer will need to spend additional money on for relief.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Belmont Brewing Co for brunch on the beach, then to the pike outlet or farmers market to experience Long Beach culture, and lastly to pine avenue for a night out on the bar scene.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a huge shoutout to my friend and soul sister, Amber, owner of Nyx And Nelz Naturals! She is a true gem, and such an inspiration.
