Aman Singh | Cinematographer & Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aman Singh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aman, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from Indore M.P india , I come from a nuclear middle class family of 4. My dad is a Executive Engineer in Irrigation. He believes in hard work as well as higher education. My elder brother Is also a civil engineer but his goals are different from all. Being a part of such family I had to work hard and do my 12th grade with science. One of the greatest thing about my family is they are supporting. My dream while growing was to be a Cricketer (Sports man). I always wanted to represent my country to international level with my skills. But life changes every second and it changed my journey also , I don’t know how but I got into films. Basically I always like practical things Over theoretical and after playing cricket for my state i had became hardworking guy. Mean while deciding I lobe to watch BTS of films and always wanted to know how film industry works, watching those videos everyday for few hours generated curiosity in me. I cleared my 12th grade and my dad gave me options of taking break from studies and cricket or choosing any field to continue my studies. That time my mom took a stand and asked me if I was interested into films. I liked the idea and started researching about the field. After few months I found out some good film schools in USA. That was the life changing decision I made to jump into this world of artists. I was always scared about my future as film industry is all about creative prospect of a individual, it’s more like creating content which can entertain everyone. There is no job guarantee, it’s like a gamble u put money to make your self better at your skills. But don’t know if you will get back anything from that. Today I’m a graduate with bachelors in film , and been working in Los Angeles with international people. When I look back at my journey I feel proud that I came so far crossing all those obstacle I faced. I suggest everyone take the risk don’t think too much, just do it , it’s now or never and I Believe you will never be disappointed.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a free lancer cinematographer based in India and USA. Cinematography is a extraordinarily skill to make a character look beautiful on screen. Today in this world of technology everyone has a phone or a camera through which they can click great pictures and shoot videos. But what makes you different is your way of telling story on screen. If I talk about myself I believe in reality then imaginary world. I like to be practical, before setting up a scene or start shooting a film I talk to the director to see his vision first. I always try to tell the story through my framing and camera movements. The more deeper knowledge you get about the character the better you can shoot the film. I have shot lots of shorts films and music videos but the most exciting and proud projects were when I filmed music video with G easy , Tory lanez and YFN Lucci . I saw the real world ,working with these artists made me love my job. I started from starch and took admission in a film school. In the begging I was bored and wasn’t interested in shooting or writing a script. But film is kind of a addiction once u get it you love to keep working on it. I started giving more time to improve my skills on camera.I learned as much as I can from my instructors doing some personal consultation as well. All those hard work and learning from mistakes made me perfect. Nothing is easy in life if you want to be perfect u need to work harder everyday on yourself and push your own limits. It was never easy for me to learn something which I haven’t done in my whole life. Everything takes time, I love doing mistakes because I learn from them. All these little things prepare you for bigger obstacles. I have been into challenging situations where I don’t know what to do. But I never lose my hopes. I stayed strong and deal with it. Think this way , what’s could be the worst ? You won’t get the same thing client asked u but in that situation you can’t cancel the whole shoot. Better u try your best to get something similar to what your client need. I’m still not a perfect person to suggest anyone but yes I’m satisfied with what I’m today because I’m getting better each day. So Aman Singh as cinematographer and owner of “Adivinayakfilms” is enough for me.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I believe every inch of your success come from your hard work , mentor ,family and your supporters. Today I’m a free lancer cinematographer and this is all because of my family specially ,y dad who spend his money on my education so I can study and live a good life. He gave up on things so he can give me a better life. My family played a important role in my life. They were standing behind me at my good and bad days. All the emotional support and the little things they did for me made me strong to face the real world. I would like to thank my mom and dad to give me such a wonderful life and upbringing. I love you.
