Amie Leadingham | Master Certified Dating & Relationship Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amie Leadingham and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amie, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
What is the most important factor behind your success / the success of your brand? I believe the world is leaning towards a mindful movement, especially when it comes to dating. People are tired of winging it and fear falling into a divorce, once, twice, or more. I became a Master Certified Relationship Coach, for this reason, it is more than a profession to me, it is a movement to help change the face of relationships all over the world. Many of us were not taught healthy relationship skills, not even in schools. And for the most part, we are supposed to learn these skills at home. The dilemma is that some singles were raised in a family home with a lot of dysfunction. Whether there was a lot of fighting in the home or no feelings were allowed to be expressed, these singles never saw a healthy resolution of conflict growing up. For many singles, these are the same tools they use to cope with skills in their dating and relationship lives. Unfortunately, this does not lead to attracting a happy and long-lasting relationship they want.
My success in helping singles find their forever relationship lies in the fact that I have been in the same shoes. I had a tough upbringing with a lot of trauma and had to fight through many limiting beliefs. There were times where I almost gave up on finding love, but I did not let my fear stop me. I still reached out for help, was open to learning, and willing to take healthy risks to get what I wanted from a relationship. To me, moving forward even when I failed at times was still moving forward. I invested in learning healthy relationship skills through workshops and programs before finding the love of my life. For almost a decade, I have been happily married and have the type of relationship I used to doubt ever existed for me.
As a dating and relationship coach, my goal is to pass the tools I have learned onto others and help them find their forever relationship. Show them how to make conscious dating choices in their love life and not let their past get in their way. When I think about my business’ success, I think about all the single clients I have helped and continue to help each day. Their success is inexplicably tied to any success I have in my life. Every time one of my clients finds love and confidence in themselves first, it leads to them walking away from toxic relationships and choosing a different type of relationship, a healthy and happy one. One that leads to the lasting long-term partnership or marriage they want. Not only do I feel some semblance of success when this happens, but I feel like I’m living my life’s purpose and vision.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Everything I do in my profession revolves around helping singles feel connected and giving them hope again. Helping them realize there is still a chance to experience real love. My motto for success is: “Focus on serving others from your heart, not just your head, and the rest will come.” The last element that I feel is super important in anyone’s quest to find success in life or love is to be patient and have realistic and achievable expectations. I can honestly say these two have been challenging bedfellows for me, as like many people, I get impatient and wonder if I am doing the right thing at the right time to keep the business moving forward. It is during these trying times, that I always revert to that motto to turn the focus off me and back on the very people I am trying help. By doing that it gives me great satisfaction in knowing that whether I help one person find love or a hundred people, I am living the give-and-you-will-receive-life I have always set out to do… and, to me, that’s the very definition of success.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite places to take friends is the Getty Museum but not only during normal hours but when they have their summer concert series called “Off the 405”. The most amazing music artists play on their patio and you just cannot beat the weather. Then we would skip over to Little Tokyo to eat some amazing food at a little mom and pop restaurant. Finally ending the night at the Edison in Downtown LA with a nightcap.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my amazing husband for always being so supportive, always teaching me how to be a better person, and helping make my dreams come true. I love you so much. I’d like to give a shout out to my Business Coach, Terri Hase for being a great mentor and coach to me and Relationship Coaching Institute for training me and helping me make my dream come true as a Relationship Coach.
