We had the good fortune of connecting with Arthur Chivichyan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arthur, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was fortunate enough to identify my passion at a very young age. I was able to use my passion to define my purpose and how I can socially impact individuals and a collective group of people. Starting my own business allowed me to instill my mindset and thought process and influence the community I lead. It gives me a sense of healthy control and power over others’ success, and that is one of the significant points I always make to the people I surround myself with. I get to differentiate myself from other educators, as I am not copying and rebranding someone else’s work. I am creating my blend of how I believe people can thrive and reach their potential, specifically today’s youth and young adults. There are several reasons why I like to educate and teach using my approach; the most important one is that I am discouraged at the path our society is on. Our youth should not maintain this approach; there Is nothing in today’s society that needs maintenance. What we need are new innovative minds, influential leaders, change agents, and difference makers. I started my business to help build and carefully construct the next bright account in the health and wellness industry, the next influential collaborative leader, the next creative mind that will make out community a healthier and safer place. I started this business to encourage our youth to step outside, socially engage with others, learn skills that are not being taught in school, understand critical daily routines, and how that can lead them towards the path to success. The last major innovation in K-12 education was Montessori, which traces back to the 1960s; we’ve been doing education research that’s never reached practical deployment for 50 years. So I thought to myself, why not build the next excellent educational institute using my knowledge mixed with a lot of the fantastic research that has been done in learning & development in all facets of life (physical/mental/emotional). We now know that 1-1 can reliably increase education outcomes by two standard deviations (Bloom two-sigma effect). We have the internet’s capabilities and the ever-so-reliable face-to-face interaction; So my thought process is, why not educate today’s youth to be the most significant leaders our generation has ever seen?

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career was a lifestyle choice; I wanted to be my own boss, and call my shots. I wanted to be flexible while helping and impacting the people I work with and influencing the communities and society. I wanted to combine my passions and purpose to become successful. I was inspired to be an adaptive teacher, an influential coach and mentor, and someone who values self-education, physical fitness, self-defense, military level mental strength, and resiliency to help people become the best versions of themselves. What sets my business apart is the unique way we are educating today’s youth; the way we assess our members is unique; the skills training and physical training sets us apart from any competition. We combine this sort of training with personal development, such as boosting self-efficacy (confidence) and an individual’s presence. In a very reliant world, we still approach our work very “hands-on” while we also incorporate new methods of learning via the internet. These unique combinations of training and coaching help develop every skill and the personality needed to be a successful person in sports, entrepreneurship, business, or personal life. What I am most proud of is that a lot of this work and material that we are using to help our members are all of my work from the amounts of research I have done or studied, books I have read, constructive material I have used my mentors, etc. Many of it comes from my experience being a professional athlete, educational background in management and leadership from Pepperdine’s business school, being a professor at the University of Southern California, and going through all of the ups and downs life has taught me. This has made me a more influential, more powerful person, a better leader for the next generation, and a guide to adults who need help shaping their lives. No business or career is easy to start; it takes tremendous work, time, and commitment. As often as it is used, failures do occur, but overcoming them via “short term wins” and thinking in the smaller picture was key to my success. These are methodologies I have incorporated into my teaching. My business and method will be widely spoken about in the years to come! We are already being interviewed by major news stations, newspapers, and other publications. My students will stand out and become successful people in our business world, sports, life, and politics. We also take the time to incorporate our work in the United States military and the men and women who served our beautiful country. We go steps and boundaries above others to make sure we do HELP; all of our members succeed and pass along the knowledge. The Elite Institute has an apprenticeship program as well that allows future teachers, coaches, and trainers to shadow our coaches such as myself, learn from us, educate themselves, get licensed, and become part of this fantastic culture.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am an avid extrovert and love being out, mingling with people, and getting to meet new people. Some of my favorite places to go to are the beach, grab a few appetizers and drinks from bars like in Malibu at restaurants like Nobu, The Sunset. Outside of that, I am a valley boy at heart and like to spend my time in Studio City, Toluca Lake, and in our facility in North Hollywood. A cool spot I want to venture off for some drinks is the Formans bar in Toluca and Heirloom Cafe, the traditional eggs with mouth-watering egg & tomato meal. When friends are visiting, especially from out of town, I like to take them to the west side for lunches, nights out in the fancier restaurant’s like steakhouses and great places for social gatherings, a few places that come to mind are Maestros, Boa, Koi, Avra and more!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I believe that a person cannot reach their optimal success without a fantastic coach or mentor. In my case, the two individuals that had the most influence on me were my parents. Although that may generally seem like the “boring” or consistent answer of many, their support was unique. They are significant figures in my successes; they not only nurtured me but also helped me become more influential and molded me into the leader I am today. From being physically trained and empowered from my father to being mentally strengthened and more intertwined with my intuition from my mother. I am influenced by many of the books and philosophies I read, specifically historical novels such as military or warfare. I often study and read about the greatest leaders in the world, unique individuals that we often never study about in school. I am always curious to learn how individual leaders or warriors overcame challenges, strategized, and studied the competition. I am always interested to learn how the most exceptional leaders influenced their society and people, particularly ancient philosophies that are still practiced today, such as some aspects of Stoicism. Many books help me in this process and self-enlightenment, many of them are self-help and education books. I am a firm believer in self-development, education, discipline, and successful habits. I will read many books that I believe not only make me into a more intelligent person but a better teacher, educator, and coach. Some books that I am reading now are “Make your bed” by Admiral William H, The Confidence Code by Katy Kay, and many practical application coaching books.
