We had the good fortune of connecting with Chrxstal Sarah and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chrxstal, what’s been your favorite thing to do during quarantine?
My favorite thing to do during quarantine has been to revel in the wisdom of silence and stillness. I’ve committed to trying to do certain things daily like waking up earlier so that I can sit outside and meditate or read, and exercising to connect with my body. All of these things have allowed me to stay grounded and to really drink in the peace and gratitude that carving out uninterrupted time with myself brings. This has also been helping with my creativity a lot. I’ve been writing and making music during this time without placing any expectations on myself and I’m truly the happiest I’ve ever been about my purpose and musical path as a result. I’ve also been connecting a lot with nature. I sit in my backyard, watch the animals and insects do their thing, pick lemons from my lemon tree, cut roses from my rose bush to add some magic to my room, etc. Also lots of tea and coffee! And Netflix.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a musician. I’m a singer, songwriter, and producer. I’m a poet… just a professional communicator essentially! What sets me apart from others is the importance of my intention in my work. At the root of all of these professions, is my calling to be a healer. To make connections, to encourage. I make sure that whatever I put out is in alignment with who I am and has purpose. I never want to do anything out of ego or for personal gain. I want to touch people on a soul level. I’ve gotten to this point by being true to myself and not letting outside influences that aren’t in alignment with my purpose impact me. I’ve learned that surrendering to life and the process is the only way to halt the pain of “not getting anywhere” or not seeing quick results which is so easy to give in to in this industry. I want the world to know that I’m here to stay because I’m confident in my talent and calling. By continuing to walk this path, I’m honoring myself and others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take them to the Venice area! All of the cute shops on Abbot Kinney are a must-see. We’d also have to go to the beach and grab acai bowls on the way. I would also take them to the arts district of Downtown LA. I’d take them to the Peace Awareness Labyrinth & Gardens for a little meditation and relaxation. We would definitely have to hit up some ramen spots like Ramen Hood or get thai food and one of my favorite places Bowl Thai. For drinks, Cha Cha Matcha or Hilltop Coffee. I’d also take them to one of my personal favorite spots, Alondra Park to chill and feed some ducks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely have to shout out me parents and friends for all of their support and love throughout my years of making music and discovering myself!
