We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominique McQueen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dominique, how do you allocate your time and resources between long and short term goals or objectives?
I take the perspective that resources (time and money) are in limited supply. Consequently, I attempt to maximize my utility by doing the things I enjoy the most, and finding that balance of replenishing resources for future consumption. I allocate my time by:
1) Enjoying time with my family and friends
2) Learning something new every day
3) Doing something new every day

When it comes to my money:
1) Planning for rainy days
2) Investing in assets for the future
3) Helping those in need

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We are a financial planning firm, dedicated to helping individuals achieve their financial goals, or variations of those goals. We enjoy what we do, which is bringing financial peace of mind, and financial confidence to those who want it the most.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The beach is my refuge – which means every day we will hit a beach spot (Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, Manhattan Beach, Zuma Beach). I enjoy hiking, so definitely Runyon Canyon. I also love visiting the museums, such as LACMA, Getty, The Broad, Griffth (I can go on and on).

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Mom – she’s been so instrumental in shaping who I am today. Her humble beginnings have instilled an amazing work ethic and appreciation of loved ones that I strive to emulate.
