ELi Tully | Designer, Illustrator & Publisher

We had the good fortune of connecting with ELi Tully and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi ELi, what makes you most proud of the business you’ve built?
I am most proud of SWR Magnzine because it gives me the chance to help share great art and artists that wouldn’t have normally had the chance. Growing up I always dreamed of being approached by someone and having them tell me they believe in me and having them sponsor my journey as an artist. This magazine allows me to be that person for other artists of all levels and abilities and that’s why I’m proud of SWR.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I actually answered all of this in an earlier question

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite places to hang out and grab some food or coffee are: 1) Coffee Nature (Costa Mesa), they have great coffee and everyone who works their is nice and friendly, and it’s a great coffee shop environment if you need to but on some headphones and get work done. 2) Kona Loa (Mission Viejo), more great coffee, more friendly people, they also have tons of cards and board games if you and some friends want a place to hang out and have a good time. 3) The Counter (Irvine, Newport), one of my favorite burger spots, you never have to worry about being picky about your food at The Counter, their menu is a clipboard you have to fill out like a test and they have so many options to choose from as far as size of meat type of meat, type of bun, tons of toppings, sauces and you can make whatever your heart desires, they also have vegetarian and gluten free options. (Dang they should pay me for that ad, I should send an invoice) 4)Chronic Tacos (there’s a lot of them you should just google it) the best quick California Mexican food, get their California burrito and their Chronic fries it will change your life. 5)Ginas Pizza (Laguna Beach) this pizza is amazing, I have no other words, just go. As far as spots to go for skateboarding: 1) SoCal skate shop (Mission Viejo) this is my local shop and everyone there is really cool. (It’s also right next to Kona Loa Coffee so you can hit both) 2) California is home to a bunch of weird, poorly built small skateparks and I love them all because it pushes me to have to skate them in more creative ways, some of those parks are: BlueGates (Laguna Niguel), Laguna Hills Skatepark “LAGS” (Laguna Hills), Beebe Skatepark (Mission Viejo), Canada Vista Park (Rancho Santa Margarita), and Ladera Ranch Skatepark (Ladera Ranch)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
As cliche as it sounds I owe all my achievements to my parents, My mom is the reason I even started skateboarding because when I was really little she pushed me to do it. And my dad has always pushed me and supported me in all my business endeavors. And throughout my entire life they both collectively always support me as an artist and never made me feel like I couldn’t be successful in an art field. I owe all I am today to my parents and God. Again sorry for the cliches but cliches happen from repetition, so it’s probably a relatable story. But if it’s not relatable, contact me, I’ll support you in your journey.
