Mya Davis | Creative Director & Digital Designer

A friend put me onto a Brian Eno quote last year and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since: “Whatever you now find weird, ugly, uncomfortable and nasty about a new medium will surely become its signature. CD distortion, the jitteriness of digital video, the crap sound of 8-bit – all of these will be cherished and emulated as soon as they can be avoided.” Read more>>

Sherry Layne | Children’s Entertainer and Arts Educator

There’s a song lyric from the musical version of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels that sums up what I strive for. “An opus to be proud of though it’s written in the sand.” A lot of what I do doesn’t end with something tangible I can keep, like teaching a one-off improv workshop or building a puppet that gets shipped off and I never see it again. Even though what I do is often gone once it’s done, I try to make it the best that it can be and something I can always be proud of. Read more>>

Jessica Brosamle | Family Photographer

“Consistency is everything.” It’s a simple quote, but it really resonates with me because it’s the backbone of everything I do. Whether I’m working on my photography, focusing on my health, or showing up for my family, I’ve found that steady, consistent effort is what leads to real progress. It’s what drives transformation. Even on tough days, I remind myself that just showing up, especially when it’s hard, makes all the difference. In photography, consistency means always learning and growing, so I can give my clients the best results. In life, it’s the strength that keeps me moving forward, one step at a time. Read more>>

My favorite affirmation is “I am born worthy” because something I think a lot of people especially artists battle with being good enough but when you live in the knowing that you are created more than enough life becomes less stressful, you know you deserve whatever you desire! Read more>>

“If you can dream it, you can do it” – Walt Disney. I’ve always been fond of this quote. Significantly, if you can imagine something; no matter how big or seemingly impossible it may be, you have the potential to achieve it. A lot of times, we as creatives get in our heads; thinking we aren’t capable (imposter syndrome) or something is too far out of reach, but with hard work and determination anything is possible. ‘In every adversity there is opportunity’ – This has been a stable self affirmation I have come back to many times in my life. I’ve had many ups and down, like many people, but I feel what separates me from most is my ability to hit back when times get toughest.
Reminding myself of this quote on many occasions has got me out of some sticky situations; Near bankruptcy, loss of loved ones, existential life crisis and personal injuries. Many of these things people succumb to on a regular basis. Add to the aforementioned being an Actor, while in conjunction with running my own brand, the constant uncertainty of roles and film opportunity can leave oneself in some uncertain situations if left unchecked mentally.
I come back to this affirmation whenever I need to flip challenging moments on there head, shift perspective and find a way to adapt, grow or develop oneself so that I can get back on the path to success once again. Read more>>

Ashley Cummings | Yoga Teacher/ Business Owner/ Filmmaker

Yes, my favorite quote is by Marcus Aurelius and states that “What We Do In Life, Echoes In Eternity”. Written by Marcus Aurelius on his “Meditations”.

This quote reminds me that our actions, decisions and choices have lasting consequences. As well that we should be mindful of our actions, and aware how others are affected by them, not just in this life, but in lives that proceed us. It reminds me to be present and intentional in my daily life; I consider how my actions may “echo for eternity”. This quote for me, highlights the importance of personal responsibility and considering how our actions may echo for eternity. The idea of legacy is important to me, how our legacies leave a lasting impact on future generations. Aside from ripples in life that we create that are visible and tangible, I personally love this quote and how it considers the actions we take that no one saw or heard about, I have often said to myself, God Saw It”. “A shop at the top of a hilly street, where few customers passed”.

Paulo Coelho is a Brazilian novelist widely recognized for the masterpiece titled “The Alchemist”.

The Alchemist is a story about a shepherd named Santiago. Santiago is a dreamer.

Being a dreamer, Santiago is driven by that unspoken intangible energy that carries a soul along it’s path through to it’s fullest completion. It’s that thing that never desists. Always singing, playing, dancing. It pulls at your heart and holds your head as you traverse the ins and outs of daily life. Read more>>

My favorite quote is from the book The Soul-Sourced Entrepreneur by Christine Kane: “Your business is the playing field for your soul’s expansion”.

I think about this quote almost daily as a entrepreneur navigating a new business alongside mothering my toddler full time. Every challenge, every setback, and even every moment of success are all part of my soul’s journey and personal growth. I never expected that starting a business would teach me so many lessons about myself; constantly bringing shadows to light and strengthening my spiritual side behind the scenes. Read more>>
