Honestly, my perseverance. If I want something, I go for it. I don’t sit and think about it for too long, I always take action. What’s the worst that can happen? It doesn’t work out and you move onto something else! Read more>>

The most important factor behind achieving success in anything is having a plan. It is never good enough to just have a dream, and while I have big dreams, I know they will never happen if I don’t put practical steps in place to achieve them. I have always been a goal-oriented person, but the key to any of my successes has been laying out the practical steps to get me there. Read more>>

Believe it or not, my success has actually been completely unexpected! Back in 2017 when I created the “Gunshots” song & music video, I would’ve been happy if only 100 people saw the video and heard the song. Now, the video has over 150,000 views and was the beginning of my success. Since then I’ve been featured on multiple media outlets, traveled nationwide to perform, and have built an amazing fanbase worldwide. I say all this to say that my success started from my desire to be honest about something that many Veterans go through (PTSD) and used my talents in music to tell that story. I think the most important factor in all my success has been just being true to myself and my story. Not being scared to be vulnerable and also working hard to become good at my craft of music so I could use that talent to the best of my ability. I’ve had so many amazing supporters reach out to me to tell me how my music has influenced them, motivated them, and saved their lives. All this success started by me being true to who I am and speaking my truth. Read more>>

The most important factors are integrity and hard work. You have to do what you say and do as you promise. But rarely is anything easy. In fact, much of the time it’s just good old fashioned hard work. You need to have some talent or ability, of course. Sticking to it is key. It is so very important to do what others do not. By being contrarian (albeit in a good way), you will set yourself apart from the rest. You have to believe in what you do and do everything you can to achieve the goal. Make the impossible possible. Dedication and openness. I studied finance during my undergraduate studies. So, at the beginning of my career in design, I felt a bit uncertain and lacked confidence. However, I worked really hard to compensate for my lack of undergraduate design education. Despite my initial self-doubt, I remained open to feedback from others. Whenever I received feedback, even if I didn’t fully understand it, I took it seriously and tried to apply it. Looking back, I realize that this approach helped me to grow quickly and understand new concepts more easily. Read more>>

Throughout my journey in studying art, I encountered numerous obstacles. One pivotal aspect that I found crucial for an artist is being immersed in a diverse environment and culture. This exposure pushed me far beyond my comfort zone, leading me to reassess every aspect of my artistic knowledge. Let me clarify that this doesn’t mean artists should adopt a specific culture, but rather, it’s a transformative process that grants us the freedom to choose. Read more>>

I think the biggest factor behind our success is that we, the entire Mychal’s Learning Place organization, operate from a place of understanding that the most important thing about what we are doing is the mission. We are here not for ourselves, but for our students and participants. “It’s not about us.” Everyday we come to work to teach, prepare, and steward our participants so that they can learn the skills necessary to live a more independent life. To never be afraid to ask for what you or your clients want. I have always operated my life and my business with the mentality that “you don’t get what you don’t ask for,” and it’s such a simple concept that often gets lost in the fray of everything else. So much of my success and what I have been able to do for my clients is simply reaching out, whether it’s via an email or DM, or a simple phone call. I don’t care who it is, what it is for; there’s no fear there. The worst that happens is you are in the same position you were before and they say no. Or, they say yes, and you get what you were truly after. Read more>>

I would say there are a lot of factors that contribute to a photographer’s success; your technical skills, your work ethic, your organizational skills, but the most important would be the ability to connect with people. Obviously knowing how to use a camera is extremely important, but knowing how to make people feel comfortable in front of the camera makes a world of difference. Being able to engage, pose, and converse with clients makes the experience ten times better for both you and the client. Read more>>

I think the most important factor behind the success of Mannies of L.A. is my ability to take risk, potentially fail, and repeat. You won’t find success if you’re comfortable. I’ve learned to redefine what success means to me and now understand it as not an end goal but the transformation that happens on that journey as a business owner, both professionally and personally. I’ve taken many risks and have have put myself out there over and over and over again. The majority of the times that I’ve done that, I would say I financially failed. However, it only takes on time to get in front of a prospective parent that needs your help. I’m willing to fail 9 times in a row in hopes of succeeding that 1 time. Read more>>

As with anything, it takes time. As a fairly young company, I believe we have done well establishing our work as a trusted brand, yet we still have a long way to go! Read more>>

Take any business book, and it will tell you that the goal of any for-profit company is to make money. Well, I agree, money is important for my business and my personal survival, but I think about it as a byproduct, not as the goal of the company. However, in the end, it pays off, and here is why: Read more>>

I would say the most important factor behind the success of my small businesses, as well as my other creative pursuits is listening. However, listening is a multifaceted process. It’s not always about what they say, more so about why they’re saying it. You must listen to your client and then comprehend what they are needing on an emotional level, and then take it one step further, to expand on their needs in a unique and creative way. Read more>>
