We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenneth Bank and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kenneth, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My business has been focused on the development of environment friendly and sustainable Affordable Housing for various populations who are in need. Housing is the single biggest cost to people living in the world today especially in large Urban areas such as Los Angeles, By creating and developing permanent supportive housing, low and moderate income housing, and housing for the homeless we are strengthening the communities which we develop in by providing a space where tenants can work close to where they live and contribute to the overall fabric of a city.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I created Skyline Multi Housing for the sole purpose of developing affordable housing and helping families and individuals bridge the housing dilemma. My career in real estate has allowed me to work in real estate brokerage, invest in real estate as a principal, and apply/obtain entitlements to develop. My educational training in Structural Engineering, and work experience for architects as a draftsman and designer have all contributed to my ability to envision, plan, design and develop housing in a sustainable and collaborative manner. Because of the synergy of my life’s professional experiences it has helped me to have a broad range of experience making it easier to navigate the sometimes arduous journey. Looking back I am proud to have been a part of the creation of over 2,200 units of multi family housing primarily in the affordable housing area.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout would have to go to my wife, Lorna Brittan Bank, who I met when I purchased one of my first parcels of land from her and her father to develop an affordable housing community in the Central City West community of Los Angeles. She has always been a big supporter of my work in this industry and of Non Profits in the Arts and in the Affordable Housing industry. Her business for many years was representing non-profit affordable housing developers here in Los Angeles in finding suitable sites for development. She has also been a hands on supporter and Board Member for several non profits including: the Topanga Women’s Circle who provides much needed household items for people moving into housing from homelessness, the Verdi Chorus, who perform concerts twice a year with a blend of opera enthusiasts and star performers, and a financial supporter of the Agape International Spiritual Center. Finally, she provided the motivation and encouragement for me to form my own vocal group 8 years ago that is now considered one of the best in Southern California.
