We asked some of the brightest folks in the community to open up to us about the most important lesson their business or career has taught them. We’ve highlighted some of those responses below.

I’m from Bellflower, California, and I spent much of my childhood moving back and forth between Rialto and Bellflower. In middle school, I developed a deep interest in musical instruments, thanks to a wonderful friend, Natasha Parada. I played the bass clarinet in the marching band, and I later explored hip hop and R&B, which led me to create music for my poetry. Read more>>

I’m originally from a family of immigrants—my parents came to America along at extremely young ages, without their parents. They started from scratch, working to build a life here, and eventually became successful business owners themselves. Growing up in Los Angeles, California has impacted me in every way possible. Most of all, it made me an artist. Coming from an incredibly creative family, I too sought out interest in the making of art. Since before I turned three years old I have been drawing. Being surrounded by the mix of colorful buildings, greenery, and the melting pot of people which Los Angeles has to offer, my mindset was constantly set on vibrance, chaos, and depicting different perspectives.
