We had the good fortune of connecting with Linda Chau and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Linda, can you talk us a bit about why you love what you do?
Public relations (PR) is an addictive industry to be in. As the world constantly evolves, this industry evolves with it, which can be stressful at times but keeps it very exciting. PR allows me to work with and learn about various industries while interacting with different types of people daily. Creativity plays such an important role in PR and gives me a space for innovation.

The power of storytelling is truly incredible. What I love most is helping a company find its voice by defining the story behind the brand and then making that story compelling to a broader audience. Once a story is published, it is forever and there is no limit to the ways it can be leveraged to further benefit the brand.

Knowing that what I’m doing is benefiting someone else makes the job most rewarding.

What should our readers know about your business?
In 2016, I co-founded Melt On Demand (Melt), an on-demand massage company with the mission to bring relaxation into the homes, hotels, and offices of people across America at an affordable price for the client, as well as a desirable pay for the massage therapist. Melt provides spa quality massage therapy for a fraction of the price of a high end spa. Melt massage therapists earn 2-3x the industry rate of pay.

With a background in marketing/PR and finance, my business partner and I were able to self-fund and scale this business on a shoe-string budget. Melt became a national brand in less than 2 years, expanding into 12 major cities across the nation and bringing hundreds of jobs to those communities. This quickly caught the attention of one of our biggest competitors, Soothe, who acquired Melt in 2018. Soothe, a multinational brand who is now available in over 70 major cities across the US, UK, Canada, Australia and Germany.

In 2019, I started my newest venture, a PR agency. PAAPR, which stands for Public Attention and Relations, is the perfect medium to create on, with plenty of space for exploration, expansion, and edits. We specialize in both B2B and B2C PR.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?

  • Yang Chow for their slippery shrimp
  • Malibu Wine Safaris for their wine & furry friends
  • Seven Grand for their whiskey collection
  • Street vendors for the best dirty dogs & elotes

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate my success to my life and business partner, Travis Peters. To be honest, I’ve always felt like I adopted entrepreneurship through marriage. Travis started an award-winning marketing agency when we started dating in 2013. From there I watched him start various other business ventures. He definitely had his ups and downs, like most business owners. Ironically, it wasn’t until things were at its worst that I wanted in. As with any relationship, you never want to see your partner go through tough times alone and that’s when I began my journey in becoming an entrepreneur.

Mixing business and pleasure isn’t always a bad thing.
