We had the good fortune of connecting with A1 NWG and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi A1, what matters most to you?
Honesty, the truth shall set us free. As long as you’re honest with life, others and yourself about what you want and who you want to be things will fall into place if you work towards them.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a storyteller, I love to narrate life as I experience it, whether it is me directly or those who surround me. I’m a bilingual rapper, producer and aspiring screenwriter. Nothing excites me more than putting together a great story. Moving from Puerto Rico to the USA wasn’t easy, even though I’m bilingual and PR is a US colony, life is completely different in a lot of ways. Latin America is warm and loud, we are like family even if we barely know each other. But through all the differences, if there is something really essential that I’ve learned is that there are more things that bring us together as people than those that divide us. My brand is about doing what you’re passionate about to the max, that’s what the “A1” stands for.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For a week? Hmm lets see, definitely take them to some Korean BBQ, Bike ride thru Venice Beach, get a Friend Chicken sandwich at Highland Park Brewery on York Blvd, Dub Club on a Wednesday night at the EchoPlex, take a tour of the Warner Bros. lot and Sony Studios. Smoke a handful of joints at the Griffith Observatory and last but not least the Hollywood Walk of Fame to see the Chinese Theater.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout, my parents, Luis & Myrna; My producer and friend Aaron P & my former group New Wave Gang.
