Meet Aaliyah Jadan | Entrepreneur – Founder of Not @ Your Service, Hair Artist, Yoga Instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaliyah Jadan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaliyah, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m proud to call Detroit, Michigan, my hometown. Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs had a profound impact on who I am today. My grandparents, who immigrated from the Middle East to the United States, worked tirelessly to build their restaurants from the ground up. As a child, I was always by theirs and my parents side, watching and learning from their experiences.
Seeing my parents’ hustle, determination, and resilience instilled in me the entrepreneurial spirit. It was inspiring to witness their dreams take shape, and it sparked something within me. I knew from a young age that I wanted to follow in their footsteps and create something of my own.
My upbringing taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, and pursuing my passions. It’s a mindset that has stayed with me and continues to drive me as I build my own businesses, including Not @ Your Service and a new salon Studio A3. I’m grateful for the lessons I learned from my parents and the entrepreneurial spirit that’s been passed down to me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a hairstylist and entrepreneur, my art is about more than just creating beautiful looks – it’s about empowering all my clients to feel confident, seen, and heard.
What sets me apart from others is my unique ability to understand my clients’ needs and desires. I take the time to listen, to understand their vision, and to bring it to life. My attention to detail, my creativity, and my passion for my craft are what make my art truly special.
In addition to my work as a hairstylist, I’m also the founder of Not @ Your Service, a clothing brand dedicated to creating comfortable, stylish, and sustainable uniforms for service workers. What sets Not @ Your Service apart is its focus on making the service worker feel and look put together while they are hard at work. Made with all recycled materials, Our uniforms are designed to be both functional and fashionable, because we believe that everyone deserves to feel confident and empowered in their work attire.
I’m most proud of building a business that’s not just about hair or uniforms, but about community, self-expression, and empowerment. I’m excited to continue growing, learning, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the beauty and service industries.
I’m thrilled to embark on a mission to elevate the Not @ Your Service brand, fostering a supportive community that celebrates the resilience and dedication of service workers. By cultivating a sense of belonging and connection, we can collectively amplify our impact and propel one another towards excellence.
Community is the catalyst that empowers us to flourish in our environments and unlocks our full potential. I’m eager to witness the transformative power of collective support and love as we come together, united by our passion for exceptional service and our commitment to feeling empowered in our custom-designed uniforms.
Through Not @ Your Service, I envision a movement that extends beyond apparel, one that inspires a culture of camaraderie, recognition, and celebration of the often-unsung heroes of the service industry. Together, let’s redefine the narrative and create a community that uplifts, inspires, and empowers one another to thrive.
My journey to where I am today has not been easy. I’ve faced challenges and setbacks. But I’ve learned that it’s in those moments of uncertainty that we discover our greatest strengths. One of the biggest challenges I’ve overcome is self-doubt. It’s a constant battle, but one that I’ve learned to navigate through constant self-work and reminders that my vision is unique to me. I’ve come to realize that my vision might not be anyone else’s vision, and that’s liberating. I was gifted with this vision for a reason, and it’s my responsibility to bring it to life.
I want the world to know that hard work and perseverance do pay off. It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it. And that’s exactly why I created Not @ Your Service – to provide service workers with uniforms that make them feel more put together and empowered during those difficult hours and long workdays. I believe that when we feel confident and empowered, we’re able to fulfill our dreams and create the future we desire. So, to anyone who’s working hard towards their goals, I see you and I believe in you. Keep pushing forward, and know that your hard work will pay off.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
