We had the good fortune of connecting with Aarica Gardner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aarica, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was that i would be my own boss. I love being able to chose when I work and who I work with . I really enjoy what I do so it was a no brainer that I work for myself and create the environment that makes me the most happy .
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Lash Extensions have slowly been taking over the beauty industry within the past 10 years. They are definitely now an necessity more than ever before. Getting your lashes done now is just as important as getting your nails or your hair done. It is here to stay. There’s so many good lash artist but I believe that what sets me apart from them are my skills but also my time that I’ve put in. Consistency and dependability are super important as well. I got where I am today because I worked really hard and worked longer hours than anyone else that I know. When you love what you’re doing Time flies but you have to be able to put in the time to get better each and every day. I put in so much work and time that I looked up one day and realized that I didn’t make any time for myself my family or my friends. I had to get better about my time management to be able to live life and enjoy it the way that I want to and not overwork myself. I want the world to know that I have built my brand from scratch and I work every day to make it better & better. My clients leave me feeling and looking beautiful and I want to continue to have that impact on people .
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend in town visiting and had the week off from work our week would go something like this Monday we would start off at 26 beach in Marina Del Rey. All of their breakfast items are to die for so we would order a few things and have to walk the beach to burn it all off. We’d end up renting bikes and taking the bike path up and down the beach until we were tired enough to have an early dinner where we would end up at Scopa Italian roots in Venice. Everything there is to die for.
We would end up back at my place by the rooftop pool and roast marshmallows at the fire and enjoy the 360 view of LA.
Tuesday we would start off at one of my favorite low-key breakfast spots that’s been around since I was a kid. The Overland Café in Culver City. This place is definitely dangerous due to the unlimited mimosas. We would head over to Manhattan Beach to visit Sand Spa to get facials, massages and Mani and pedi’s. After we would head over to LACMA to explore the museum and get cool photos inside and out. For dinner we’d head over to Terroni‘s on Beverly. Their homemade pasta is seriously insane.
Wednesday we would start with Green juices and healthy snacks from Whole Foods. We would get a bunch of snacks and delicious things for the day and we would head to my rooftop pool and sunbathe for hours. We’d have to show off our beautiful tans later so we would go out to Hibachi Papi in Westwood for dinner and would end at Habibi café for hookah and late night vibes.
Thursday would start off at Lundaree in Beverly Hills for coconut milk lattes and croissants. We would explore Beverly Hills and all of the shops . After Beverly Hills we would make our way to Hollywood and site and people see. We would head over to Griffith park so that my friend would be able to get insane pictures for IG and her memories . For dinner we would end up LoCanda Veneta on 3rd st in la. This place is such a vibe and offers amazing dishes that will make you feel like you’re out of the country.
Friday would start off at Roscoes chicken and waffles . We would head downtown to visit all of the diff shopping districts. After being downtown we would need a chill down and would head over to Malibu to Geoffrey’s for a dinner by the water .
Saturday would start off early with a ride to the Santa Barbara zoo. We’d have to get there early to see all of the animals and to be able to feed the giraffes. We would make our way back to the city so that we make it in time to cannabis yoga at the yoga nest in Venice. We would more than likely have the munchies and need to walk over to Scopa Italian roots for dinner .
Sunday starts with yoga and meditation. Breakfast at my place with friends and family to celebrate my friend being in town . We would day party by the pool and enjoy good music and food . Dinner would be at Delilah’s where she can enjoy jazz music And enjoy the LA vibes .
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shout out my amazing family, friends & clients . I’ve been so fortunate to work on such amazing people some who have become like family . I am grateful for your continued support and dedication.
