We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron-Gregory Fernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aaron-Gregory, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think risk shows an individual’s true character. Taking a risk involves being intrepid and a having optimism in your desired result. Taking risks has elevated my thinking in several ways. I have always been one to follow my heart, and go for the things I desire with intent. Taking risks had made me more flexible and balanced knowing that there is always some new opportunity that can present itself, if the original idea fails. Taking risks really challenges your persistence. Some tend to get discouraged when things don’t go the way they expected. I like to think of these moments as omens. Omens are key factors that affect future choices when pursuing a determined agenda. Risk taking has made me a better human being by teaching me abundance and gratitude. I am grateful for all the risks I have taken in my life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most excited to be hosting my own events that I can perform at. I teamed up with a friend of mine, who started an organization called Party With A Purpose. This brand was created for the advancement of community and culture. Our goal is the help those experiencing homelessness on Skid Row by donating 1,000 pounds of fruit to them.

What sets me apart from others is my ability to write metaphors and similes in a unique way that showcases my lifestyle and experiences. I believe my songwriting skills have increased because of my love for new words and being transparent about how I feel in my music. I actually can dance and vibe with the music I create.

I got to where I am today professionally by listening and asking questions. These are the two key skill sets in life. You also have to exercise patience in order to be great. Nothing happens overnight. I overcame every challenge with hard work and dedication. I stayed optimistic and kept going with my craft.

A key lesson I learned along the way is to be more disciplined financially. Wealth is accumulated from saving, not spending. This is a key mindset I will be sticking with from this moment on in life.

I want the world to know that I am a very diverse human being with a great heart. I know how to be compassionate and empathetic for my fellow human beings. I believe we are all magnificent creatures with unlimited abilities. I want to inspire people to use a higher percentage of their brain power and stay healthy. I am a talented music artist and it is my pleasure to share my thoughts with the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my best friend to the beach to go bike riding. It would either be Dockweiler, Malibu, or Santa Monica beach. If it was a week long trip, we would eat caribbean food, italian, and seafood. We most likely would be drinking tequila or a rum at a dive bar or at a restaurant. One of my favorite places to go would be Elephante in Santa Monica. The ambiance is fun and you meet a lot of cool individuals. I also would take my friend to an art show with vendors selling their product, such as clothes, food, jewelry, skin care products, etc. Another activity I would invite my friend to join would be going on a hike up Runyon or Griffith Park. Hiking up Murphy’s ranch is valid to be accredited as an fun activity to do in this city. I believe these activities would sum up an amazing time no doubt.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate a shout out to my mom for raising me to be a respectful and polite man. She raised me well by keeping me active in athletics and music from a young age.  I also want to shout a book called “The Power Of Now” by Ekhart Tolle. This book has impacted my life by changing the way I think and perceive my reality. I go through life with a focused and calm demeanor, that allows me to accomplish my goals with ease. I have acquired a positive mindset from my mom, and a intellectual spirit from Ekhart Tolle.
