We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron Schwartzbart and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaron, how do you think about risk?
Coming into turn one at Auto Club Speedway, I’m doing about 158 in MotorGospel Ministries’ John 3:16 race car. I’m in a pack of about 50 cars. The slowest cars are doing 125. A privileged few are doing in excess of 200 MPH. We’re all slamming into the same turn together. People ask me “Isn’t that risky?”. To my way of thinking, what’s risky is being called by God to drive a race car and then ignoring that call…
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
LA is such a rich tapestry, it’s hard to pick just a few but I would likely take them to Hollywood, Yamashiro, Saddlepeak Lodge, La Boucherie and depending on their interests, maybe a Police Commission meeting or the beach, Granada Hills Grubfest and of course the track if they like speed. Depending on whether my friend likes highbrow or street-level, Beverly Hills or the alley. (we love both) If the timing was right, they would have to come to the huge international LA Art Show at the Convention Center.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are about 300 people to thank. If I had to pick just one in this context, it would be Los Angeles City Councilmember John Lee. Let me know if you want me to list 10 or 20 out of 300.
