We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Cole Dalrymple and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adam Cole, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
My happiness comes from being kind and spreading love in any way I can. This life we live is so often overwhelming and very negative with little unsolicited kindness. Though very small it may seem, I want to do my part to change that. I truly believe it can be as simple (at least to start) as a positive mindset and all else will follow. A considerate nature and selfless thoughtfulness has brought myself all the joy. For example, grabbing a specific sparkling water that a friend mentioned they absolutely love and giving it to them when we meet up for our plans to hang has an impact as small as it may seem. I make cognitive points to remember the little things that may bring another a sparkle of joy and feelings of love. No more me me me! I know we can all do better and be better. Not everyone can get there on their own, and need that small example of compassion and kindness. Though I have may, this is by far one of my most important missions in life.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Since I was 18 I have served tables in many restaurants, and pursued my passion for singing. At this point in my life I have made the change to focus my career towards Real Estate, and couldn’t be more thrilled to start this chapter! My parents are home builders, so I grew up always being around job sites performing various jobs. Seeing the process of buying land and developing it gave me a strong appreciation for this field. Being in costumer service as long as I have has given me a strong back round in people skills, and an act for clear communication. Both incredibly important for success as Real Estate agent. My experience in hospitality has been challenging nonetheless, but has taught me how to handle myself and communicate and deliver memorable experiences to a wild range of people. Anticipating needs and exuding positivity has brought myself much success! Moving forward with my new career path, I’m confident being knowledgable and making the process of buying the a home a fun and as enjoyable experience as I can to my clients.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a beach bum at heart. Malibu hikes are my favorite and a must to takes friends to explore. There’s nothing like strolling around Venice Beach. Take a skate board and ride the boardwalk up and down, stopping to lay out on the sand, then grabbing drinks at Water front, followed by dinner at Great White. I love walking down Abbot Kinney checking out all the shops, and heading over to Rose Ave to hit up Chulita for amazing margaritas, and then walking over to Gjusta for dining “al fresco” under the lights. Dancing is a major joy of mine so I would definitely take my friends to “Davie Waynes” for a fun 70’s vibe, and maybe heading over to “break room 86” to finish the night off.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As corny as it may sound, I owe it all to my mother. She has taught me all that I know and instilled the tools to strive for success in my life. As a child I often didn’t agree and fought back with how she instructed my development, but I couldn’t be more appreciative and truly blessed with how kind and patient she was. One of my biggest takeaways that I will never forget was how to sincerely express an apology and mean it. It’s so easy to say “I’m sorry”, but more often than not the meaning is lost in insincerity. Control over emotion was key while being able to put aside my anger and pride in a situation. It may sound silly, but wow has it been immensely helpful in life. My mother gave me the respect and allowed myself to always express what I was feeling. She never judged nor may me feel embarrassed with how I felt in any way. Her open book policy and neutral perspective is what truly made me who I am today!
