Meet Adria Bieksha | Jewelry Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Adria Bieksha and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adria, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a love for art and a passion for bringing beauty into the world through my creativity. With my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design from William Paterson University in NJ, I’ve been able to explore the interaction of color and design which translated into my jewelry design.
Adria Artistry sprouted from a personal belief: that jewelry is not just an accessory, but a form of self-expression and individuality. I noticed that so many pieces available were mass-produced, which, to me, felt impersonal and lackluster. Frequently, these items were made with lower-quality metals & materials that could tarnish easily or cause allergic reactions.
I wanted to create unique pieces that would enable individuals to wear jewelry that truly reflected who they were, without compromising on quality. Despite having no formal training in jewelry making, I was determined to teach myself the craft. This was more than just starting a business—it was about creating and sharing art that could resonate on a personal level and allow people to express their own artistry and personality.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Hey there, I’m Adria, the founder of Adria Artistry! I’m a self-taught jewelry designer, and crafting unique jewelry pieces is my creative passion. I aim to create simple, tasteful jewelry that I would love to wear myself – and trust me, I do! Transforming raw materials into wearable art brings me so much joy, especially when I see others appreciate it. Every piece is meticulously crafted in my studio in Rockaway, NJ, ensuring that no two are alike.
I love working with sterling silver and gold-filled metals for their skin-friendly properties and using natural gemstones for their colorful and stunning beauty. I’m all about supporting small businesses for my supplies. From wire wrapping to soldering and handweaving, perfecting these techniques has been a journey that started with YouTube tutorials. I’ve spent countless hours learning, practicing, and always looking to pick up new skills.
Creating art has been my passion since childhood. Back in high school, I was part of the Art Honor Society, which became my creative outlet. What makes me and my pieces unique is my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree background with a concentration in graphic design. It’s giving me a keen eye for good design layouts and the use of color that sets my work apart. I also find inspiration in my travels and nature, incorporating organic elements into my jewelry pieces.
I believe that accessories should be an extension of one’s personality and style. That’s why I offer custom jewelry services to bring your vision to life. Whether it’s a special occasion or just adding a unique touch to your everyday look, I can create a piece that represents you.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since I’ve lived in Northern New Jersey for a while, which has its perks, New York City is only a short travel away. The city offers endless possibilities and has some of the best attractions in the world. So, I’d say “Let’s hit NYC!” first.
We’d catch the train and head to Midtown Manhattan, where the energy is simply contagious. Times Square is an experience in and of itself with the iconic billboards, vibrant city lights, and marquees of Broadway shows. Some fun attractions are Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, and various shops and restaurants that add to the lively vibe.
As an art enthusiast, there are incredible museums in the city like The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and The Guggenheim. My top pick is the MoMA with its fantastic modern and contemporary art collection, including iconic works like Van Gogh’s The Starry Night and Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup Cans, along with pieces from Pollack, Dali, Gauguin, Picasso, and other renowned artists.
After the museums, maybe a stroll over to Central Park which feels like an escape from the bustle of the city. You can take walks, ride bikes, have picnics, visit the Central Park Zoo, and even go on boat rides.
To round out the day, enjoying dinner in Little Italy is a favorite with its authentic Italian cuisine. I particularly love the handmade pasta and capping it off with gelato or cannolis for dessert. The neighborhood has so many great bakeries, pizzerias, and boutiques, The activities could go on forever.
If my friend didn’t feel like traveling to the city, there are plenty of spots in New Jersey to see – bar hopping in Hoboken or Jersey City, quaint shops around Morristown, visiting the Statue of Liberty, a trip down to the shore regardless of the season, sometimes even better during the offseason to not get bombarded by the vacationers. If it was the middle part of the year, maybe catch a concert at PNC Bank Arts Arena in Holmdel or go for a hike along one of the many trails in the state. Capped off by having some pizza at one of the numerous pizzerias in the area. NJ has the best pizza, no contest.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First off, I just have to give a big shoutout to my amazing husband, Mike, for always having my back during those late work nights and being there when I needed him. Huge thanks to my parents for putting me through college and letting me follow my dreams as an artist. And a special mention to all the incredible art teachers, especially Denise Van Deroef and Kristen Palana, for guiding me along the way. Last but not least, a massive thank you to my wonderful friends and family for their constant love and support! It truly means the world to me~
