We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrian Mainou and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adrian, what do you attribute your success to?
I consider myself a person that often feels hard to accept a win, I’m slowly working on accepting that more and I feel that thats something key about your path to success. You have to learn to trust yourself and what you have learned along the way, having that trust on yourself will always be a boost that will get you pass the worst moments just like it can be there for the best ones!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I work in the music business industry as a marketer and A&R for many different artist. Since I graduated from college I’ve had the opportunity to work in many different projects for artists all around the world that I never thought I would be able to work with. Its been a huge challenge specially being a member of the Latinx community and joining the music industry at a young age often makes people push you aside but that has made me learn and understand what I have to offer and that has helped me open doors and adventures for my career.
Working with up and coming artists has always been a passion for me, helping them their brand on point, market their song to the max and using all of the different tools I’ve been able to learn with time has been the best way to learn how to deal with different situations and what are the options I can offer to each artist in a unique base.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is a great question! I love eating (who doesn’t right? haha) so showing my friend my favorite spots around town is going to be the first move. After eating I would find what are the best places I can take my friend to just enjoy some relax time, talk and try to enjoy the weather of the day (If its sunny hopefully). Showing my favorite spots to eat, to spend time and to just enjoy the day will be the key things to make the most out of the day!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Some of the key people in my life will always be my family and my friends, to my peers at Berklee that helped me shape myself into what I am right now and what I will be in the future and for all the people I’va had the opportunity to work with along the way that have trusted me with their proejcts
