Meet Aidan Wilde | Film Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aidan Wilde and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aidan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I never approached it with the intention of starting a business. My focus was always on storytelling—using visuals to create meaningful connections and evoke emotion. For me, success was simply being able to make a living doing what I love. Over time, the realization came that my passion for crafting compelling narratives could naturally evolve into something larger. Turning that passion into a business felt like an organic progression, driven by my love for the craft and the belief that powerful stories can resonate with an audience.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work is distinguished by its unique fusion of mixed media art styles of animation and diverse mediums, spanning from 2D animation and illustration to 3D animation and traditional digital film. I like to think that this combination of techniques offers varied perspectives and rich textures, all of which elevate the storytelling experience.
A project that I am particularly proud of is a trailer I created for Team USA for the 2022 World Cup. Fully self-directed, produced, shot, and edited, this piece blends 2D comic book-inspired visuals with 3D animation and live-action footage. Reflecting back, I realize that this project not only advanced my portfolio but also gained the trust of high-profile clients in my creative vision. It soon after is what Landed me Jobs with CB Sports, Adidas And Nike to name a few. To bring this video to life, I collaborated with talented artists who contributed to both the 2D illustrations and the 3D animation, resulting in a dynamic and impactful final edit.
Through experience, I’ve noticed that the most pivotal moments in my career arise from taking calculated risks. In an industry as competitive as film, betting on oneself is crucial for growth and success. Opportunities rarely come ready-made; no one hands you a perfect chance to create something extraordinary. Instead, you must create those opportunities yourself. Always take any opportunity to make something you’re proud of. I try and always operate as a student of the game. To continue the love and learning of the craft. I want to continue figuring out new ways to show a different perspective. Ultimately, I hope my work introduces fresh perspectives to audiences, allowing me to tell visually compelling stories that resonate on a deeper level.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of my favorite spots in LA include Great White in Venice for a relaxed breakfast or lunch and Elephante in Santa Monica for a memorable dinner with ocean views. A sunset run or walk along the beach is a must for soaking up the coastal beauty. For a scenic drive, heading up the Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu is unbeatable, especially with a brunch stop along the way to enjoy the ocean views and laid-back Malibu vibe

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are far too many people to count who have contributed to my journey. Success is never a solo endeavor—it’s the product of countless incredible individuals who’ve left their mark on my life. If I had to dedicate my shoutout to anyone, it would undoubtedly be my grandmother.
She sacrificed so much for our family and played a massive role in raising me. She encouraged me to embrace my creative passions, to double down on my talents, and to never shy away from my dreams. Her belief in me was unwavering, and her perseverance in the face of life’s challenges continues to inspire me every day.
My grandmother passed away recently on October 30, 2024, and it feels only right to honor her legacy. Without her influence, I wouldn’t be the person or the creative that I am today. She is the true embodiment of resilience, love, and encouragement, and her impact on my life and career will always be immeasurable.
