We had the good fortune of connecting with Airyen Vay and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Airyen, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
” Be a bringer of the light. For your life can do more than illuminate your own path, you can bring the light which truly lights the world” – Neale Donals Walsch
This is one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite books. To me this means to be the change you want to see in the world.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe that every piece of art is unique because each creator has his own way to express things. What makes mine unique? It`s just my personal way to talk about things that had an impact on me, that I want to change in the world or that I love. I am convinced that as long as you stay true with yourself and you speak freely about your story, you will remain unique, authentic and people will relate to it,. Don`t be afraid to approach sensitive subjects and don`t be afraid by the fact that you might upset some people with your honesty. One thing that I do and I will always do is that I am probably brave enough to speak my mind which is something you`ll hear in my next EP.
I feel like I have a long way to go and I haven`t even started yet. Best lesson I have learned ? That would be to never give up!
I definitely want people to know that I will always give them my best.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If they are not from California, I am sure the first place to go to would probably be In n Out, haha. Personally I am big pizza fan so I would probably show them the best pizza places I know in LA. I love beach walks, there some amazing wild beaches in Malibu that not to many people know about, those are like my secrets spots and I would show that to them for sure.
I love LA and I believe the city has a lot to offer from food to concerts to beaches and museums if that`s something you like to do.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am the most grateful for my parents. Everything I did and continue to do is thanks to them. They have supported me and believed in me in all the ways from a very young age and they are still doing so to this day. Music business is not easy and you need people you trust by your side to stay grounded. It requires a lot of work, you are facing lots of ups and downs and you need to be mentally stable and have a balance in your life.
