We had the good fortune of connecting with Alan Milstein and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alan, how does your business help the community?
My business is called Muuch. And at Muuch we are looking to expand the possibilities of what it means to be a self-employed creative professional. We are looking to build tools that help the ever-growing creative community to make the best projects they can while also being able to build a stable business behind their skills and abilities. By providing a streamlined process to create projects based on which stage you are at in you project and bringing cross-collaboration capabilities clients can build a team to create their projects faster and better while freelancers get to work in great projects they love with other talented people, growing their network and knowledge. At Muuch we are constantly looking to develop the next tool to facilitate the chaotic world that is the creative industry.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
After I took the jump to leave the company I was working at I founded Muuch, An online freelance marketplace for creative people. At Muuch people can create projects and find the people that best match their vision and have them work together to bring out the best possible version of their project to life. What sets Muuch apart from other freelance marketplaces is that Muuch is made for every creative person no matter if this is their first or hundredth project. At Muuch people can hire freelancers based on which stage of their project they are at and what they specialize on, and have them work together through cross-collaboration to make the project quicker and better. I am most proud of the tool Muuch provides for creatives and I want to help creative minds bring their ideas to life and creative freelancers have stable work and growth. At Muuch we are constantly working on providing the best tools for creatives to expand their ideas and be the best they can be. Honestly, the road of the entrepreneur is never easy but it is not supposed to be walked alone. Every single experience I’ve had has pushed me forward and with the help of all of my friends and family I’ve been able to continue on this path I love so much and I hope that people find whatever I do useful for them.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
LA is full of wonders all around so it’s very hard to choose but I think some of my must-see places. -LACMA for the artistically inclined always holds very interesting exhibits and on Fridays gives an evening Jazz concert outdoors while people take some picnic lunches.
– A Korean BBQ with friends at Koreatown is always a great spent evening.
– A Hike through The Valley in the morning for a little communion with nature.
– Smorgasborg a food truck market extravaganza in the Arts district on Sundays is an amazing place to taste some of LAs famous fusion food and other weird events that change constantly.
– Going to Hotel Cafe to see some of the up-and-coming musical acts in the city.
– A night out at Good Times at Davy Wayne’s to bring back some 60s-70s club nostalgia.
– And obviously a stroll through Santa Monica Pier starting at the 3rd st. promenade for some shopping and ending in one Venice Beach’s many cool little restaurants.

These are the activities I would recommend to get a varied taste of what LA has to offer.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout all my friends and fellow creatives that gave me the inspiration to not only try to create something for myself but also create something that is to make their experience in the industry they love just a bit easier.
