We had the good fortune of connecting with Alevtina Kalashnik and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alevtina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting Stellar Stream Studio was a journey rooted in my passion for visual storytelling and a deep commitment to helping others discover themselves through visual psychological meanings in their narratives. My experience in photography, videography, and directing taught me the profound impact that visual content can have on personal and collective identity. By creating my own studio, I aimed to craft a space where clients not only receive high-quality visual content but also engage in a journey of self-discovery.

The thought process behind starting Stellar Stream Studio was driven by a desire to merge artistic expression with psychological exploration. I wanted to go beyond traditional services and create an environment where individuals could see themselves reflected in their stories, uncovering deeper truths and gaining new perspectives. This approach allows for a more meaningful connection between the client and their narrative, making the final product not just visually stunning, but also deeply personal and transformative.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Stellar Stream Studio is a creative hub where visual storytelling intersects with deep psychological exploration. What sets us apart is our ability to blend art with psychology, allowing clients to uncover hidden aspects of themselves through the visual narratives we create. Every project we undertake is not just about producing visually stunning work but about capturing the essence of our clients’ stories in a way that resonates on a deeply personal level.

I’m incredibly proud of how we’ve built a space where clients feel truly seen and understood. Whether through photography, videography, or directing, our goal is to craft stories that reflect the true nature of those we work with. This approach has led to transformative experiences, both for our clients and for myself, as we delve into the deeper meanings behind each visual narrative.

The journey to where we are today hasn’t been easy. It involved overcoming numerous challenges, from balancing creativity with the practicalities of running a business to pushing through moments of self-doubt. However, these challenges have taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, community, and the importance of staying true to my vision. The most crucial lesson I’ve learned is the power of authenticity—stories that are genuine and meaningful have the greatest impact.

What I want the world to know about Stellar Stream Studio is that we’re here to create more than just beautiful images. We’re here to tell stories that matter, to help people see themselves in new ways, and to inspire transformation through the power of visual art. Our work is about pushing creative boundaries, exploring new dimensions, and always striving to bring a deeper understanding to every project we undertake.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d craft an itinerary that truly captures the vibrant and diverse essence of the area. We’d start with a day in Venice Beach, soaking in the eclectic energy—walking along the boardwalk, people-watching, and maybe renting bikes to explore the area. For lunch, we’d grab something fresh and delicious at Great White, a local favorite known for its healthy options and laid-back vibe. The evening would be spent watching the sunset from the Venice Pier, followed by dinner at Gjelina, where we’d enjoy some of the best farm-to-table cuisine in town.

Next, we’d head to the arts district in Downtown LA. We’d spend a day exploring the galleries, street art, and unique boutiques. I’d take them to The Broad to experience contemporary art, and we’d stop by the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) as well. For lunch, we’d hit up Wurstküche for some gourmet sausages and craft beer. In the evening, we’d grab a drink at one of the trendy rooftop bars like Perch, where we’d enjoy a stunning view of the city skyline.

A trip to LA wouldn’t be complete without a day in Malibu. We’d start with a morning hike in Solstice Canyon, taking in the natural beauty and the ocean views. Afterward, we’d relax on the beach, maybe at El Matador, which is a bit more secluded and scenic. Lunch would be at Malibu Farm, a picturesque spot right on the pier, serving fresh and organic dishes. To top off the day, we’d visit the Getty Villa to immerse ourselves in art and history before heading back.

For the final days, I’d take my friend to some of my favorite hidden gems around town. We’d spend a day exploring the Griffith Observatory and hiking up to the Hollywood Sign for those iconic views. We’d make sure to visit LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) to see the famous Urban Light installation. For food, we’d explore the culinary delights of Koreatown, maybe indulging in some Korean BBQ at Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong. And to wrap up the week, we’d have a relaxed day in Santa Monica, strolling down the Third Street Promenade, enjoying the beach, and finishing with a memorable dinner at Elephante, a rooftop restaurant with incredible ocean views.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely! My journey has been enriched by the incredible support, mentorship, and collaboration of so many amazing individuals and organizations. First, I want to give a huge shoutout to my dear friend Yaroslav Sakhnevich (@distant.raw) from Ukraine, an incredibly talented photographer who has been a constant source of support and inspiration in everything I do.

I’m also deeply grateful to my spiritual mentor Anastasia Urasova (@paranormalnaya_ya), who has provided invaluable guidance in my journey through Kabbalah and esoteric studies. Her insights have helped me blend these profound spiritual concepts with my work in visual storytelling, allowing me to explore the deeper psychological meanings behind the images I create.

I’m also thankful to @the_1st_photography_group, with whom I had the opportunity to conduct my first workshop in LA—an experience that marked the beginning of many more exciting collaborations to come.

Additionally, I appreciate the mentorship from @modern.photo.school and @in.light.academy, who pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me create my first creative art project—a result of two weeks of non-stop brainstorming. Their guidance has been crucial in shaping my approach to visual storytelling.

Another shoutout goes to @ifaparis for their amazing creative direction course, which truly expanded my horizons, and to the inspiring @asya_griga for giving me the incredible opportunity to teach kids about sustainable fashion and how to bring their concepts to life. You can even watch those series on my YouTube channel!

I also want to acknowledge the extraterrestrial experiences and the cosmic connection I’ve felt. These encounters have opened my mind to new dimensions of creativity and understanding, inspiring me to infuse my work with a sense of wonder and discovery. They have expanded my vision in ways I never imagined and continue to influence my artistic journey.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of my family, who have stood by me through every startup and creative endeavor. Lastly, I want to thank the many creatives I’ve had the pleasure of growing with—your collaboration and shared journeys have been essential to my personal and professional growth.

To all of you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of my story!
