We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex & Kamlyn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex & Kamlyn, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind our success has been support- the support of our families and our kids, from helping us stick labels on bags to helping us take lids off of pans and turn off oven timers. We also could not do this without the support we provide to one another, from sounding new flavor ideas off of each other to helping with the dishes (sourdough creates a TON of dirty dishes!)
Lastly, the support and positive feedback from our community is a driving factor. Its an indescribable feeling when someone tells us they are able to eat our bread after years of not being able to have it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Right now we are in two local farmers markets and we do several community pop up events as well as take special/ custom orders; while we feel like we have a long ways to go, we look back to even just a few months ago when we would wheel our little bread cart out to the sidewalk in our neighborhood. We have learned that patience is key, there were several times while waiting on permits etc. that we felt like maybe we should just give up, but at the end of the day, we love making healthy bread for our community and our families. You can taste the difference and the love that we put into everything that we do. We have learned to never give up on ourselves, even when things are overwhelming and that there is no limit to what we can do. We’re just getting started!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, obviously we would make them help us at our farmers markets so that they could check out all of the amazing local vendors! We would grab Vietnamese coffees from KB Donuts and breakfast burritos from Ma N Pas and head to the Colorado lagoon so that the kids could jump off the bridge into the water. In mid August the water is full of friendly moon jellies that you can swim with.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to shout out our families for their constant and unwavering support; Thank you, Crash, Bowie, Zoey, Paloma and Adolfo!!
