Meet Alex LiveSaX

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex LiveSaX and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alex, what makes you happy? Why?
What makes me happy is simple — creating moments through music. When I play saxophone and see people suddenly start smiling, dancing, or just stopping for a second to listen, that feeling is hard to explain. It reminds me why I started playing in the first place.
I also enjoy the freedom of living a creative life. One night I might be playing at a wedding, another night at a rooftop or a club with a DJ, and every event has a different energy. I meet people from all kinds of backgrounds and become part of important moments in their lives.
For me, happiness is being able to do what I love, express myself through music, and bring a little bit of joy to people around me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I perform under the name LiveSaX, bringing live saxophone into modern events like weddings, private parties, and DJ sets. I love blending a classic instrument with contemporary music such as house, EDM, pop, and soul. My goal is to create energy and memorable moments for people.
What makes my performances unique is the interaction with the crowd. I often move through the audience and play alongside DJs, turning the saxophone into part of the dance floor experience. Sometimes I also use LED saxophones or different instruments to add a visual element to the show.
The journey took years of practice, persistence, and building relationships in the music and event world. What keeps me motivated is being able to share music with people and be part of important moments in their lives. Through LiveSaX, I hope to keep growing and creating experiences that people remember long after the event is over.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a close friend was visiting New York City for a week, I’d want them to experience the mix of culture, music, and energy that makes the city special. I’d start with a walk through Central Park and then head downtown to explore neighborhoods like SoHo and the Lower East Side, where there’s always something creative happening.
For food, I’d take them to some great vegetarian spots and good coffee places around the city. New York has amazing restaurants from casual street food to beautiful rooftop spots with views of the skyline.
At night, I’d definitely show them the music side of the city. That could mean live jazz in a small club, a DJ set at a rooftop venue, or a night out where live musicians and DJs play together. The nightlife and music culture here is one of the things that makes New York truly unique.
I also spend time in Los Angeles, which has a completely different vibe that I love. In LA I’d take a friend to places like Santa Monica or Venice Beach to walk along the ocean and enjoy the sunset. The energy there is more relaxed, with great cafes, outdoor spaces, and beautiful views of the Pacific.
Both cities inspire me in different ways — New York with its nonstop creativity and energy, and Los Angeles with its openness, sunshine, and artistic lifestyle.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to give a shoutout to all the people who supported me along the way — mentors, musicians, DJs, and the event planners and clients who believed in me and invited me to perform. Every opportunity to play at a wedding, party, or special event helped shape my journey.
Music is something you rarely do alone. So many moments in my career happened because someone trusted me, recommended me, or opened a door. I’m grateful for those connections and collaborations.
I also want to recognize the musicians and artists who inspired me growing up. Watching great performers made me realize how powerful live music can be, and it pushed me to create my own path and eventually build my brand, LiveSaX.
