We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandra Michelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexandra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly? Entrepreneurship was an absolutely terrifying prospect. It took everything I had to break through the fear.
I went back and forth between denial, fear, self doubt and an intense longing to develop myself as a transmission vehicle and energy healer for around six years. Even though it might have seemed on the outside that I was just putting it off or deluding myself, underneath the surface I was experiencing the healing and realization necessary to become the kind of person who can reliably and safely hold others in their transformation.
Sometimes fear is the greatest indication that we are onto something meaningful and meant for us.
Eventually everything came into focus when I was presented with the opportunity to train in a modality (KAP) that would enable me to truly serve others in the way in which I had envisioned. I even had two amazing business coaches emerge from the woodwork and offer me business training in exchange for my services. Life itself seemed to orchestrate everything for me.
When I finally began offering transmission and mentorship professionally, I had to abandon everything my mind was telling me I “needed” to be in business. I was using my intellect to try and protect myself from failure by making up all the variables and preemptively finding solutions. It was a lot of “what if” and not a lot of action. Ultimately I learned to get quiet and listen to my heart in order to take the very next available step… which was simply authentically sharing what I had to offer. Gratefully, people got it and I began giving kundalini activation sessions and classes to groups. People saw immediate, meaningful changes and improvements in themselves, their lives, and their relationships.
Over time, I had enough proof of effectiveness and experience working with others to generate a unique system of steps, combined with a potent energetic practice, that produces the result of a stable, spontaneously emerging, spiritual awakening. It is not necessarily another form of yoga, but a process by which we get to know ourselves deeply, learn to take responsibility for our lives, and commit to the devotion of spiritual transformation towards non-duality (oneness). Since then, I have offered 1:1 mentorship which evolved into a group mentorship container that successfully provides an immediate and tangible, grounded, direct experience of Spirit.
Part of what makes me unique from the milieu of spirituality teachers and coaches out there is a truly holistic approach, from the ground up. There is no magical thinking in my approach. I focus on simple honesty, and radical responsibility. I also don’t teach manual practice, such as breathwork or hatha yoga, which can take months if not years of practice to see results. I initiate spiritual emergence through energetic transmission, which produces kundalini activation and has the potential to result in a full kundalini awakening. This is your life force, your own innate spiritual intelligence. We need this power and the direction of this inner teacher to truly create the lasting changes in consciousness that produces authentic, permanent liberation from our suffering and misguided perceptions about life.
It is this unique calling that informs my unique approach to my business. I don’t invest a lot of time in strategy, instead I do the work and allow the people who are ready to find me to find me. And they always do, almost as though by magic.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The whole description of “what I do” is a really subtle task, because much of the time I feel like “I” am not doing any of it.
I had a spiritual awakening around the age of 22. I didn’t know it was an awakening, it felt like I was having a nervous breakdown existential crisis. Suddenly, my identity was breaking apart. That, I discovered MANY years later, is all par for the course.
Without giving you my whole life story, the authenticity of this awakening was unmistakable. I was busy being an atheist and nurturing some real attachments to emotional un-wellness, but all of a sudden, out of the miasma of over-thinking, fear, and self pity that was my normal state, a feeling of profound sense-making universal okayness and love dawned upon me. It was, without doubt, divine grace. I can’t describe it to you. I found myself crying incessantly over the beauty of the world. I was breaking open. I had experienced the beginnings of a kundalini awakening.
After that, I began the mandatory process of healing and de-conditioning inherent in a kundalini awakening. I went through the dark night of the soul. I began to see, with achingly stark clarity, just how I had created all of my life conditions- the fortunate and the unfortunate- I began to process my karmas. Everyone thinks they want to become “more conscious” but within that greater consciousness is the consciousness of ALL of yourself- the “good” and the “bad”. The unconscious/subconscious becomes conscious. While this can be challenging (to say it mildly) it is the most liberating possibility- from this deep seeing of oneself comes true and lasting change.
Integrating that peak experience of love-bliss, in order to create a stable realization, has been my life’s calling ever since.
I fell into my teachers without any trying on my part. I was introduced to my first teachers by true happenstance, and trained intensively for two+ years with an esoteric Toltec lineage holder to go “into Light”. There is no easy way to describe this. “Esoteric” means by energetic transmission- not through words. The teacher holds a particular wavelength which allows the student to tune in to a new dimension of perception. We learned to literally see energy, to silence the mind, to live according to dharma… that is, to live in a manner which facilitates ever deepening Self Realization.
During this time I studied energy healing and found that it produced amazing results. People healed from parasites, spontaneously forgave life-long grudges, even elderly dogs with cancer improved! I was then, and am still today, flabbergasted by the reality of spiritual healing.
I continued to study with transmission teachers and became able to transmit myself. My study and practice was always for my own love of God, my own joy in spiritual discovery, my own movement towards that which felt whole and real and stable- the only thing in existence which doesn’t change- the eternal Tao, the Source.
Eventually, it isn’t enough to have the bliss and peace of awakened consciousness for yourself. I believe human beings have a primal need to share that which has made a difference in their lives, and I am no different.
The word “kundalini” is hot right now. People sling it around to describe a kind of exercise or use it as a marketing ploy, but Kundalini is the force for Shakti- the divine intelligence that animates all of Life, something for which only awe is appropriate. It is a powerful energy that is absolutely life-changing, and while we all think we want change and improvement, once She is awake, She demands that we heal, move into integrity, and fulfill our purpose. The process can be difficult, but one of the hallmarks of an authentic awakening that proves true again and again is a feeling of bliss and gratitude for the fierce grace of transformation.
Today, I facilitate Kundalini awakening through Kundalini Activation Process (KAP), which is a transmission-based spiritual practice. It is the simplest and most profound method I know for awakening. All phenomena, from the earliest stirrings, to the later stages of Kundalini awakening, can be experienced during a single session- body movements or kriya, emotional catharsis, astral vision and travel, feelings of full-body bliss and non-dual states are all commonly reported.
The practice is open to anyone. I hold classes every Thursday night at 6pm pacific on zoom. But the awakening of the energy is only the beginning. Having a direct experience of conscious states beyond mundane awareness (that which would usually take years and years of meditation practice to achieve) in a short 60 minute session is reason enough, but if you really surrender to this intelligence, profound spontaneous healing and awakening happens for nearly anyone who sticks with it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love Los Angeles. It has been my home for over 8 years. I’ve finally surrendered to the intensity of the city, and find an extraordinary expanse of beauty, culture, diversity and riches of all kinds.
I would bring my friend to Sturtevent Falls in Arcadia and to Temescal Canyon in the Palisades. We would go to The Getty or LACMA or the Broad- or all three. We might go to an estate sale in the Hollywood Hills over the weekend. We would eat at Otus Thai in West Hollywood and Cafe Gratitude in Larchmont. I would take them to the farmer’s market!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Every single person in my life has contributed to me in some way. I really mean that. Special recognition goes to my spiritual teachers, and the lineage of which I am an extension. Venant Wong trained me to facilitate Kundalini Activation Process (kundaliniactivationprocess.
If I were to name every book that impacted me, we would be here for a millennia. Be Here Now, by Baba Ram Dass was an initiation for me, as was the Tao te Ching by Lao Tzu.
My loving parents who gave me the perfect environment to learn what I needed to learn and who raised me to be resourceful, sensitive, and strong. And my wonderful partner Nicholas who is loving, kind, trustworthy and an endless source of fun and adventure!
