Meet Alexandra Stergios | Sports/News Anchor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandra Stergios and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexandra, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Success is the result of balance in your life. Feeling good and confident with yourself, having peace and joy. Doing exactly what makes you happy. Knowing yourself and seeking the best version possible of yourself. Creating the life you choose. Success is also the attitude you have to solve problems and overcome obstacles, having faith and handling life without surrendering to its challenges.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I studied Communications and Sports. I started my career on TV and radio in Mexico City. My first huge event to cover was the 2014 FIFA World Cup. After working in Mexcio for four years, I moved to LA to pursue other opportunities. I start presenting sports segments and anchoring the news for different shows. I have been covering sports and news for various news organizations in the United States and Mexico for ten years, including covering the Gold Cup and World Cup, as well as the Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Finals, and Stanley Cup.
Some of the lessons I’ve learned are how to be independent moving to another country and how to start from scratch. Also, as a woman in the sports market, it’s more difficult to succeed sometimes.
But in the end it is all about discipline, trust, hard work, and being open to opportunities.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to go hiking in Malibu, so you can see the beautiful views of the mountains and the ocean. You can have brunch in so many spots there and walk on the pier.
Going to the Griffith Observatory is a must to watch the sunset, and then walking down to grab a bite at any cute place around. Mírate is a very cool Mexican spot for dinner.
I really love açaí bowls. I’ve tried lots of different ones in LA. One of my favorites is Açaí Jungle in Burbank.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am very grateful to Estrella MediaCo, for giving me an amazing platform to develop my career and letting me inform the Hispanic community in the US.
