Meet Aleya Sneed: Owner and Creator of The Londyn

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aleya Sneed and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aleya, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
If I had a penny for every time someone told me, “You should profit off what you’re doing because I can’t do that!” I would be rolling in the dough! I have always been a “do-it-yourself” kind of person and I have always been creative. I grew up a dancer but always had a love for art on the side. So, as I sat in my new home, searching the internet for wall art and essential oil pillow spray to help me sleep, I decided I would just learn to create my own. And that is what I did! I did not set out with the intention of starting my own business, it just came to me.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The Londyn is a store that creates embroidered wall art and essential oil blends that are all handmade by me. I create and cultivate all the products in my shop which I am so proud of. One new collection I am specifically proud of is getting to create custom wall art for people. People have sent in photos of families, couples, and even dogs for me to recreate and hand stitch on a canvas for them to hang in their space which is so exciting. That is what I want the world to know about my brand. I love having the opportunity to create something special for you and your loved ones. Whether it is an essential oil blend to help you relax or a piece of wall art that will liven up your space, each item in my shop is carefully designed, thoroughly researched, and always made with love.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I have a few staples that I always take friends when they come to visit LA. I say all the time that California looks like a painting. Everywhere you look, the view is just stunning! And what is more beautiful than California’s beaches? Next on my list would be to show off the Hollywood sign. My favorite hike and view combo would be to take them to Griffith Observatory. When it comes to food, I love Barbrix for their amazing brunch deal. Prank Bar will forever have my heart for having the best cauliflower wings and vegan nachos. And my local favorite is Mamita’s for their tasty Peruvian food. My favorite bar to take visitors that always amazes them when they see the fridge door they have to walk through would be Good Times at Davey Wayne’s. And if we have time to get away and do something different, I would take them to Joshua Tree.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I could not have done any of this without God, my family, and friends. Without their continuous support I would not have achieved all I have achieved in life so far. But, if I had to give a special shoutout to someone, it would have to be my partner who is my sounding board, helps me when I’m stuck, my biggest supporter, and also at times, my delivery person.
