Meet Ali Katz | Meditation Teacher & Animal Communicator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ali Katz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ali, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson that I have learned along the way is to be truly authentic and to do things my way from the heart. There may be people that do what I do, but they don’t do it like ME! When I tried to do what I thought I “should do” because it was what other people were doing on social media for example, it never worked. My career really took off when I put blinders on to what what going on around me and just went for it in a way that felt authentic, relatable, and fun. I make meditation feel really doable because I teach meditation for the real world, and people respond so well when I make it feel really comfortable for them. I make animal communication, which is totally weird for a lot of people, feel really normal. I am just me, just Ali, all the time.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have had many twists and turns on my professional journey, and it really took me getting to know myself in order to find my true passions and calling. I like to say that I followed the Universal breadcrumbs that were left for me to find, and being willing to follow them changed everything. Learning to meditate was the beginning of my transformation and self-care journey. Once I realized how my life was changing for the better I knew that I had to teach others how to bring meditation into their own lives. From there I realized that I had a lot to say, and I wrote three best-selling books creating the Hot Mess to Mindful Mom series. What sets me apart as a meditation teacher is making meditation feel relatable and accessible to everyone. When I teach people they say, “oh…I can do that!” That’s the best compliment. I have always loved animals, and I’ve spent the past few years learning about many metaphysical modalities. I heard about a class in animal communication–literally an email was in my inbox one day, very much a Universal breadcrumb–and something just felt right so I took the class. From the very first time that I connected to an animal in that class it felt 100% right, and I knew without a shadow of a doubt this was part of my journey. I began practicing on every animal belonging to a family member or friend. I wanted to really work on improving my skills so I signed on to work with my mentor, Marta Williams, and now I have worked with literally hundreds of animals across the country and internationally. Giving animals a voice, and helping per parents to feel more connected to their animals is so incredibly joyful and such an honor for me. I can also work with animals in Spirit, and those readings are always emotional and extremely special.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well I live in Houston, do you want Houston or LA?!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am so lucky to have had amazing teachers to guide me on my journey. I was trained in meditation at the McLean Meditation Teacher Academy and Sarah McLean is simply one of the most amazing people I know. Her presence in this world is a true gift to us all. I studied Animal Communication with Marta Williams, and I will forever be grateful to her for giving me the confidence and skills to excel and share my gifts.
