We had the good fortune of connecting with Alisa Vanpoppel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alisa, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I love boutiques, but a lot of times I could not afford to purchase products due to pricing . I always wanted to start a boutique of my own but I wanted to be sure that I kept the price point affordable.

I wanted people to shop with me, to love the product and to be able to afford to purchase multiple outfits and accessories.

So I started small as a Pop up shop at local events , then transitioned into a storefront and recently went back to my roots of a pop up boutique .

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started in corporate America in the insurance field , I was pregnant with my 3rd child and decided I wanted to stay home with may babies. I stayed home for 3 years and then needed to return to work. I started a house cleaning business to help support financially and to make my own hours to still be able to be there for my children who were all active in sports and school. 16 years of cleaning I realized I can not clean forever and my body was getting tired. Today I still own my cleaning business, but two years ago I went to my husband and wanted to start an affordable clothing boutique, which was a dream of mine for many years . We pulled the trigger in 2019, ordered product came up with a name and found local events in the Temecula area. And then 1 year into pop up events a Storefront Boutique was for sale and with alot of prayers and consulting we purchased Zingari Boutique in 2020 4 weeks before covid. We went on lock down, remodeled and made Zingari an affordable, on trend clothing, rustic chic boutique with a side of pop up events . We reopened June of 2020 and with the support of the community and so many people shopping small we survived covid and the shop was becoming a well known small boutique. I love helping ladies come out of their comfort zone and expand their colors and styles . I enjoy getting to know my customers as we all have a story to tell and an ear to listen and alway something to share! My customers become friends and that’s what I love about my shop. We recently and unexpectedly had to returned to pop up events and with the help of friends and family we have transitioned into online and back to local pop up events . Everyone has been so supportive!!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Omgosh … my best friend lives in North Carolina and loves California . We live near Temecula which has so many places to see and visit in one city. Temecula is also huge wine country which in itself is a few days of fun! We would shop Old Town Temecula, it has an old western feel to it . Shops , food, dance places. Some of my favorite places to eat are: 1909, Luke’s and the Gambling Cowboy. They all have amazing food and an amazing atmosphere. For some fun drinks and dancing I’m a little partial to country music so we would visit The Stempede which is one of the larger country night clubs in the area. We would shop the many Boutiques and enjoy some teas and shakes from Old Town Nutrition!
Next we would visit all the or most of the wineries as there are many of them it would take a few days to try them all. . Some of my favorites are Wilson’s Creek Winery, Somerset Winery, Peltzer’s Winery and Many others .any of the wineries have picinic areas and live music for entertainment and some
Of the best foods .
For those who love to gamble or want to do a staycation we have several casinos Pechanga Casino and hotel being my favorite .

We are so close to the beaches and San Diego is just an hour drive with many places to visit !

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
