Meet Alisha Hall | Real Estate Agent and President of Golden Women Foundation

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alisha Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alisha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Generational Wealth. My husband and I always talked about wanting generational wealth for our family and at times, felt so far away from it. We may not have any assets passed down to us and knew we had to find a way to break this cycle. We talked about what type of assets we would want to pass down and property and investments were the top two. We decided to each take one to learn more about and I reluctantly chose real estate. After doing a quick google search on a book that would teach me everything I wanted to know about real estate, I found a free 2-hour class nearby. I thought cool, maybe the class would direct me on what books to read. When I went to the class, I realized that if I was going to spend my precious time (and let me tell you, moms don’t have much time to themselves) reading a book about real estate, if I just took a test afterwards, I could legally be a real estate agent. Sounded easy enough. So, I read those books and took the test and here we are. I not only will have property to pass down to my children but possibly a business they could learn from, work for or own as well. My desire to want more for my kids made it necessary for me to start my own business. I’m so blessed to have the relationships and clients I have who propelled my business. Also, so blessed to be able to work around my small children’s needs and teach them as I go. Super excited to see the impact of what my small step towards learning will be for my family.
I’ve always had a passion for doing my own thing and learning. In 2010, I started a nonprofit organization, Golden Women Foundation, just so I could give support to women and their journey of education. I wanted to do more than just donate my money to a charity and hope it went to good use. I know it goes to good use! I’m so proud of every scholarship applicant, every mentor, every vision board participant and every single donor who believes in our work and works so hard to make changes in our world. #GoldenWomenForever

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As far as Golden Women Foundation goes, I haven’t run into many (or at all) scholarships that award women wanting to go back to school, at any age, or women who are looking for support with obtaining state licensure. That definitely sets us apart from other scholarship foundations.
Real Estate is still evolving for me. I have been able to work with people who are not on social media. Everyone will tell you your business needs a social media presence, which may or may not be true. I believe your relationships and character will always surpass social media. You have seen a few of my clients on TV and social media but won’t see our transactions there, and that has worked for me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Although I’m not a native, I’ve lived in LA for quite some time now and places that must be visited will always have to be the beach. Beach all day, and restaurants off the beach all night. I’m also a fan of the Hollywood Bowl. You could see any show genre there and have an absolutely beautiful experience. A comedy club on Sunset Ave is cool to experience. Rooftop bars, boat cruises and maybe even a trip to a nearby city like Palm Springs or Santa Barbara will have you never wanting to leave.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Bam Hall deserves a ton of credit for my successes in real estate. Not only is he a major connector, he is a major motivator and someone who only wants to see the best in others. The Board of Golden Women Foundation plays a vital role of support in everything we do. We honestly could not operate as well without their volunteering work, year after year.
