We had the good fortune of connecting with Aliyah Abdullah & Chloé Levray and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aliyah & Chloé, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Understanding when it’s time to rev it up and roll up our sleeves and when it’s time to take a beat, rest, let go and see what areas are truly the most efficient use of time.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The fitness industry is saturated with “fast-results” marketing. This can lead to high attrition at gyms and injuries from minimal education around the body, misinformation around how to approach health effectively and general overwhelm because there is so much information about health and wellness.

Through our podcast, we curated a space for the working professionals and creatives to not only receive information they can understand but also feel seen, heard and relate to the stories of the guests they hear on our podcast.

On each episode we explore the intersections of health and culture through topic-based discussions with professional guests across various industries (i.e. medical, science, holistic, music, athletics and more).

Our mission is to help podcast listeners develop meaningful connections to their health, their body and their mindset. They’ll find someone they can relate to, laugh a little and learn. They may find a new health resource or discover something new about their personal health –that’s exactly what health is, personal.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would go hike in the Malibu/Ventura canyons (Los Leones, Will Rogers State Park etc.) . Randomly stop off at a fruit truck or coconut stand on the way down the PCH Coast from the hike. We’d take them by our favorite co-working space “Blackbird House”. (www.blackbird.house) in Culver City. If we were taking them by our podcast studio (Pink Cloud Studios) we’d stop by our favorite place to eat and hang in between episodes “Green Table Cafe”, Mid-City.

If you listen to podcast episodes then you’ll know Long Beach is mentioned often (Aliyah’s Hometown) and shown a lot of love too lol.

We typically like to explore and try new places! Most places that involve being outside is nature or greenery is typically a thumbs up from us for the ambiance and feeling grounded.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our family and friends. There would be way too many to name but everyone that is currently on our mailing list, has listened to a podcast, shared insight in our focus groups, tuned-into our crowdfund, shared a podcast episode, thought of us for an opportunity and genuinely supported and cheered us on through our pivots and growth!
