We had the good fortune of connecting with Allie Casazza and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Allie, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Starting my podcast. I’ve been podcasting since 2015, mostly with a co-host. I branched out on my own and started my current podcast, The Purpose Show in 2018. Making that transition was huge for me and my brand. My business started generating 6-figures per month, my reach skyrocketed, and I felt like I was getting my message out there in a way that worked so well for me. I enjoy talking more than writing, I feel like I am able to be my sarcastic self and no one misses my tone, and I people can hear my passion for what I do through their earbuds. Launching my podcast was such a huge turning point for me!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I think a lot of personal brands connect with my niche, which is moms, by speaking only to their struggles without showing them a new way of doing things. While I’m sure they mean well, it’s really a hopeless message. It says “this is the way things are for you and there’s no way to change that. But hey, we see you and we get it. It’s a disaster over here too.” They are contributing to Hot Mess Mom culture, which can be toxic.

My message is about recognizing and empathizing with the daily struggles and pressures moms face, but also empowering them to do things a different, better way. I show them the light and call them into it. My desire to help them is greater than my ego’s desire for them to think I relate to them. I used to relate to them, but I don’t anymore. And that is my power. That is how I can help them.

Starting this business was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done. For years it felt like I was talking to no one. I would go live, host webinars, post to social media, and only my close friends and relatives would engage. I knew I had an important message, I knew moms needed it, but where were they? Staying in that place for such a long time was depressing at times. I kept going because I had a vision for my life and my business. I knew I had a responsibility to not stop until I that vision was my reality.

I’m grateful for the struggle now. Because of the struggle, I am a good leader, a wiser business owner, a better servant to the women in my online communities, and more grounded as a person.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in San Diego and only come to LA sometimes for work so I feel like we should skip this one for me, LOL

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I absolutely could not be where I am at or do what I do without my team and my husband, Brian.

He is constantly looking to support me. Whether it’s being a sound board for problem-solving or helping me dream up new podcast episodes, Brian is always willing to lock arms with me and help me raise our family and run our company.

Team Allie supports me in every way imaginable, from replying to emails and managing Facebook ads to my assistant who preps the meals in our home.

Women are expected to do everything perfectly. I do a small percentage of what the world sees extremely well. The rest is done by those who support and love me. I am so grateful.
